    The truly unfortunate fact here is that Kilpatrick was holding the city hostage.  His plea deal, though quite light in terms of punishment, at least gets this crook out of the limelight and should help the city get back on track more quickly than playing it out over the next few months and years would have in criminal court.

    The plea helps the city.  Perhaps this is what Cox was thinking.

    Lets hope there are some lessons were learned here.  Maybe during the next election the voters of the city of Detroit will set the bar at least a wee bit higher.
