  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Hey Tom?

You just cast the deciding vote for an A21 Premise.

The UN Agenda 21 premise on full display last night. Principle 1

"Human beings are at the centre of concerns for sustainable development. They are entitled to a healthy and productive life in harmony with nature. "
Entitled. And by Right even in many other declarations.

But lets not stop there!  Certainly Principle 5 is equally important. ('equal' being the operative word)

All States and all people shall cooperate in the essential task of eradicating poverty as an indispensable requirement for sustainable development, in order to decrease the disparities in standards of living and better meet the needs of the majority of the people of the world.
Step one? Eliminate insurance expense for the not-so-well-to-do.

In the greatest redistribution scheme seen in our lifetime, you have just assisted in making sure the 'Right' to a healthy and productive life has new legs.  Republicans that voted for HB4714 have saved the state a few dollars over the next couple of years, but have embraced full blown global socialism in the process.  When Sebelius changes the rules with nary a peep from our weak kneed congress, illegals will ALSO have the right to our health care as well.  Former Governor and Democrat Jennifer Granholm started promoting this clunker in 2007, you just turned the key.

Its a small world after all Tom.

    Bravo.

Is Your Name On This List?

Is this something you agreed to?

Examine this list (being presented as a press release by Brad Fingeroot) closely.  You know someone on here.  Your kids, grand kids, The paperboy.  Perhaps spanking had become passe too soon?

The young people on the list below do not support the platform of the Republican party, yet claim to be Republican.  The young people on the list below have declared it more expedient in order to win elections to refute any policy based on principle.  They apparently support homosexual relationships, more so than the family unit, which statistically makes society stronger, and individuals more resilient.

This is the future of the Michigan GOP, or so they claim; these young Republicans, encouraged into signing a petition because real conservatives won't acknowledge homosexual activity is OKEY DOKEY.  Because traditions are what they call the "Democracy of the dead".

    Google that.

These corrupted youngsters in their average 20 or so years age range know better than you old fuddy duddy racists and bigot conservatives in the old Republican party.  They don't need you. BIGOTS

They are the new Republican. And their message is below the fold

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    The New Year Is Coming

I suppose we could all plan out our resolutions; eat less, quit a bad habit, exercise more (or some), stay away from politics, ..

No, wait.. Scratch that last one.

As inviting as a life away from political theater might be, its detracting elements are unfortunately the very reason we persist.  Common sense often ignored, calls out for correction.  Ideological corruption of our traditions and beliefs demands challenge. Transparency and openness requires that we run around, opening windows and letting the sunlight in.

Sleeping on the job is not an option. Never mind that we do tire on occasion. It doesn't matter that we've done our job already. That we have endured the wholesale idiocy promoted by the left, and our sanity firewall is perpetually tested.

I attended the last meeting in my term as a County commissioner tonight.

The interesting thing about serving as a public official is the curious inhibition to controversy one can develop. (unless one is a whacked out lefty - where the more absurd the reasoning the better) Its too easy to start worrying about whether 10% of one constituent group or another will be upset by simple common sense decisions or a reasonable stand on principle.  Simple fire resistant pajamas are sufficient for most politicos I think.  Instinctual survival techniques, such as not opening ones big fat mouth at an inopportune time suffice quite well.

The new year is coming, and its time to try on a fully flame proof outfit.
