  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Spencer Abraham Strikes Again

Yannow, after watching George W and John McRINO get trounced three times in '07 when they were pushing their McCain-Kennedy scAmnesty vote, this will seem par for the GOP course to most RM readers.

Nearly a hundred top Republican donors and Bush administration officials sent a letter to the House GOP on Tuesday urging lawmakers to pass a bill that legalizes illegal immigrants, arguing that the current system is already allowing them to stay and so it makes sense to register them and bring them into the system.

The donors, led by former Bush administration Cabinet officials Carlos Gutierrez and Spencer Abraham, also said that immigrants are potential Republican voters who can be won over - if the party can be seen as welcoming to immigrants.

    REST

I wonder if they mean something like this over a dozen potential Republican voters.  Nice, eh?

Is it really any wonder why Michigan's La Raza Award recipient and Muhammadan pandering fool lost his Senate seat to Debbie Stabenow?  No.  Democrat trumps Democrat-lite every time.  Matter of fact, Democrat-lite always paves the way for electing a Democrat.  Fact.  See Ford, Read My Lips Bush, Dubya (yes, he built that Obama), Reach Across the Aisle McCain, and Willard.  Another fact?  Hispandering has never won over undocumented Democrats to the GOP.  Yes, unfortunate as it is, even St. Ronald got that wrong.  Face it, Ron was only human.  That's the trouble with idolaters today <cough>PaulTards</cough>.

As for La Raza Abraham's buddy, not only is Carlos Gutierrez a disgusting excuse for a human, but also a treacherous open borders tool, and reasonably questionable American citizen.

Quite frankly, anyone contributing money to the state or, national Party or, any of its committees is - certifiably nuts.

Of Course There Are Children Dying

    In Connecticut, Michigan, wherever.

This is not intended as a coldhearted statement, but rather an observation that is crying out for recognition.

Dead kids, property destruction, general disregard for our fellow man.  All of it resulting from exactly the opposite message of what founded our great nation.  Our current bizarro world would not be complete without death being the 'preferred' alternative to a woman not being able to play around unfettered by the inconvenience of pregnancy, without the labor unions calling for the 'rights' of workers to be protected by placing shackles on their legs, or the game played by progressive thinkers which sets rules that define taking as morally preferable to voluntary concession.

There could hardly be a dry eye out there from parents of 5 to 10 year old children after yesterday's tragedy in CT.  In fact, anyone with a soul left in these dark times must feel for those parents and family members who had only days before had the highest dreams for their happy little treasures. Even the souls scarred with the axiomatic wrist cutting belief that abortions are OK, or those with sociological defects that believe that honor killing or personal slavery is ever appropriate, must hide their eyes lest the world witness their hypocrisy.

The world is doing its pole shift, not in the geological sense, but in logic and reasoning and common sense.  Our civilization is running its moral clock backward.

What stretch of the imagination is it to see a people who are immersed in a culture of death such as that experienced in Detroit, which sports a near 38% abortion rate, and leaves a lesson for those who survive, that life is not sacred? How can we be surprised at the destruction of hot dog carts, and tents, and personal property by union members who have been told that "its OK to break things in your fight to retain dominion over your brother"?  What level of coercive (violence based) taxation is enough for ANY political party, when each scheme rewarding some, must be borne on the backs of others, involuntarily?

Are we as a nation ready to appropriately answer these questions?

    Continued below the fold.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Over $120M Recouped From Deadbeats

    Good news.

Attorney General Bill Schuette today announced that the Attorney General's Child Support Division has secured more than $120 million in child support owed to more than 10,000 Michigan children.

"If you have the ability to pay child support and refuse to fulfill that responsibility, we will hold you accountable," said Schuette.  "It's a privilege to help more than 10,000 children and their parents when they need it most."

Schuette's Child Support Division has collected more than $120,841,450.51, according to the most recent statistics available.  A total of 10,150 children have received child support funds owed to them since the Attorney General's Child Support Division was launched in 2003.  The largest payment received, to date, was $250,000 in a 2004 case arising from Kent County.  Since its launch, the office has averaged approximately 900 warrants and 770 arrests per year.

Schuette noted the Child Support Division focuses on those parents who have an ability to pay, but refuse to do so.  Michigan is the only state to make failure to pay child support a four-year felony.  Schuette said his office focuses on non-custodial parents resuming regular child support payments, not jail time.  As a result, Michigan kids are paid what they are owed and subsequently receive consistent support into the future.  Oftentimes the recognition of potential criminal prosecution is enough to encourage a non-custodial parent to act before setting foot in a courtroom.

    Rest here

The Official Way To Make Your Voice Heard ..

    ".. in our government."

A Big change is coming to government!

    Neato.

By golly, it appears the constitution matters again to the miscreant denizens of the white house. Those guys have all of a sudden realized that "we the people" are looking at the constitution and have a little better understanding of the document that protects us from them.  I would fully expect that all those petitions demanding an end to the unconstitutional health care mandate, will now be heard.  Certainly, when energy prices are starting peak, the white house will respond positively to petitions that suggest we allow more drilling and use of our natural resources.  In fact they will probably call the petitioners up directly and congratulate them on their successful participation in the constitutional process.

    Or not.

"The official way to have your voice heard in our government"

Think about that statement for a second.  If this will be the official way, then apparently the other methods are no longer necessary or adequate.  The smiling faces to the right will certainly vote for the petitions they like as indicated with another wonderful gem:

"If your petition is among the most popular, a group of white house policy officials, like this good looking bunch, will review it, make sure it gets to the right people in the Obama administration, and craft an official response."

This country is being run by children. In fact, it appears they are soliciting petitions from children as well:
Anyone 13 or older can create or sign a petition on WhiteHouse.gov asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country.

Aside from the dismissal of all those who spoke against the kind of change this chump in charge was pushing, the utter disregard for the protections afforded us by the founding documents has been clear.  This is not at all addressing our grievances but merely an attempt to once again use a catch phrase that might be more acceptable to those of us who truly believe there is meaning in consent of the governed.  The catch phrase "we the people" is still sadly abused by those who have no interest in its real meaning, its intent, or its warning to those who stray from the constitutional foundation.

And the guys on the left wall have done nothing to address that.

Will our children have their Fathers on Christmas Day?

Circa 1999/2000 West Michigan DADS in conjunction with DADS of Michigan would circulate Father Facts to Legislators, Bench holders, Journalists: it really is unbelievable that we have failed to embrace the promotion of Fatherhood and rather promote oppression of Fathers. Michigan has oppressed our Michigander children by oppressing Dads for over four decades. Dr. Ken Canfield is well known by Social Scientists and the Clergy, Dr. Canfield created the National Center for Fathering (the source of the ARTICLE below).

    UNESCO Strikes Again!

By The Wizard of Laws, Section Multimedia
Posted on Thu Sep 03, 2009 at 08:05:16 AM EST

Cross-posted in The Wizard of Laws

We're Americans. We're generous and forgiving and tolerant. I get all that. But why do we feel it necessary to fund every lunatic organization on Earth?

Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it galls me when I read that the U.S. is giving hundreds of millions of dollars to UNESCO, which advocates teaching 5- to 8-year olds about masturbation!

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. In 1984, President Reagan cut off U.S. funding for UNESCO. The State Department said, "UNESCO has extraneously politicized virtually every subject it deals with. It has exhibited hostility toward a free society, especially a free market and a free press, and it has demonstrated unrestrained budgetary expansion."

The ban on funding remained in place until 2004, when it was restored by W. (See, not a partisan post!). Even Clinton refused to fund these nuts.

Since 2002, however, the U.S. has thrown $536 million down the UNESCO hole, and The One wants to send them another $78 million.

So what's wrong with education, science, and culture? Depends on your definition and its application. In UNESCO's case, everything is wrong. In June of this year, UNESCO published a report recommending that sex education begin at five (that's 5) years old. From CNS News:

The report, called International Guidelines on Sexual Education, was released in June in conjunction with the U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA), an organization which works for universal access to "reproductive health care."

In its rationale for creating the guidelines, the UNESCO report said it is "essential to recognize the need and entitlement of all young people to sexuality education." An appendix backed that claim by pointing to a 2008 report from the International Planned Parenthood Federation that argued governments "are obligated to guarantee sexual rights," and that "sexuality education is an integral component to human rights." The guidelines are designed, according to the report, to be "age-appropriate" and break down the suggested curriculum into four age groups: 5- to 8-year-olds, 9- to 12-year-olds, 12- to 15-year-olds and 15- to 18-year-olds.

For those aged 5 to 8, some key concepts to be discussed are:

-- "Touching and rubbing one's genitals is called masturbation" and that "girls and boys have private body parts that can feel pleasurable when touched by oneself."
-- That "people receive messages about sex, gender, and sexuality from their cultures and religions."
-- That "all people regardless of their health status, religion, origin, race or sexual status can raise a child and give it the love it deserves."
-- "Gender inequality," "examples of gender stereotypes," and "gender-based violence."
-- Description of fertilization, conception, pregnancy, and delivery.

Sharp-eyed readers will note not only the integral role of Planned Parenthood, but also the reference to a child as "it."

To take just one aspect of the guidelines, what does it mean to say that all people, "regardless of their health status . . . can raise a child and give [him or her] the love [he or she] deserves"? (Hey, wait -- is the use of him, her, he, and she "gender stereotyping?") To what "health status" is UNESCO referring?

And why are we supporting an organization that recommends 5-year olds be taught about masturbation, and "sexual status?" It might be nice if we occasionally tried reading, writing, and arithmetic before we jumped into sex toys and cross-dressing.

We're Americans. We want to be loved. Do we have to be so stupid about it?
