  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    For now.

The Michigan State Senate Is Adjourned.

Thank you to the courageous Republicans who resisted the allure of vote trades, pressure from lobbyists and special interests, and did NOT see fit to lay a long term burden on Michigan Taxpayers.

And a special thank you to Senator Richardville for upholding senate caucus tradition, and while even supporting the bill, kept to protocol by holding for a majority in the Republican Caucus before bringing the bill to the full senate.  This has done more to solidify Republicans strength than might be appropriately expressed here.

    Thanks for the BOLD COLORS!

    Have a great summer.

    via The Detroit News

Metro Detroit gun dealers say demand for firearms is so brisk that some can't keep enough weapons in stock to satisfy the demand.

While the upward trend in gun sales began a decade ago, interest has intensified locally and nationally in recent months.

Experts attribute it to fears that gun laws will become more restrictive and concern over cuts in police and fire budgets, as well as a growing acceptance of firearms.

    Rest here

Well, that, and the observations made that the Trotskyites in power have requisitioned a .40 cal round for every breathing skull on our soil along with the Pentagon gaming Unified Quest 2011 .. just might have a little something to do with sales too.

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

An aside, for those unaware, Putin's Russians who are partnered with China are war gaming in Colorado.  Amazing, though not a surprising occurrence for the Obama administration.

There are a lot of things we take for granted in this country.  One of those things ought not be the fact we are born in a place that has an abundance of possibilities when allowed to explore them.  The pace in which we live our lives sometimes accelerated to a point where we forget WHAT we are not noticing too well, and its origin.  We have selected as a nation, this day to pause and reflect on that which we have been given: Possibility, family, life...  By our creator.

Our gifts have also included great fellowships, here, and in our political and personal efforts stemming from our desire to remain free, and forever thankful.

Today I thank God for all that has blessed and touched our lives, and for your continued presence in this community.  You are not taken for granted.

    We wish you a

And THANK YOU for being here.
