  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

you know ... Why They FAIL?

In yet another attempt to bend the business owner to government's will, Democrats in the state house have introduced what I will call the Credit Reporting Absolutely Prohibited act.

Michigan's House Bill 4363 (2011) has the following lawmakers bending employers over and gives them the busines..  umm gives them a LESSON on business. Jon Switalski - (primary) Lesia Liss, Vicki Barnett, Rashida H. Tlaib, Kate Segal, Stacy Erwin Oakes, Andrew J. Kandrevas, Woodrow Stanley, Brandon Dillon, Fred Durhal, Jr., Jim Ananich, Maureen Stapleton, Ellen Cogen Lipton, Mark Meadows, Lisa Brown all have jumped on board the 'C.R.A.P.' act bandwagon, and eagerly seek the  no responsibility route.

"A bill to prohibit employers from making certain recruiting or hiring decisions based upon an individual's credit history; to prohibit employers from making certain inquiries; to prohibit certain waivers; to prohibit retaliation; and to provide remedies."

Certainly, those folks could get their credit back up if they could get that job they don't deserve, right?  Oh my, those poor put upon people who just cannot catch a break!  Wow! If I may borrow a cartoon character's exclamation of disgust mixed with a little frustration and eye rolling, AYE CARAMBA!  It seems our out of touch cousins of the liberal persuasion have again forgotten that their form of governance has consequence.

    More below.

(Promoted by Nick... GREAT user blog! Well done, KG.)

Have you ever stayed up at night, couldn't fall asleep, even after watching re-runs of House/Senate Proceedings on C-Span arguing the minutiae details regarding their latest unconstitutional omnibus-{fill-in-cool-sounding-name-to-generate-publicity-in-the-next-24-hour-media-cycle}, and eventually after going through the dial for the gazillionth time just stopped on a channel where they had two (or more) people just having at it?

You really don't know the players involved.

    Shark-Boy and Curry-Man against anybody.

    OBD v. Awesome Kong.

    Sting v. anyone.

Randy Orton v. the latest person he attacked from  behind to gain the win.

You really don't care you wins, you just like to watch two people you really don't care about just wailing on each other.

Well, that's what'll happen in the 12 District in 2010.

More information when we come back from the break.
