    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    RTL MI Thanksgiving Report

We've been so busy having to clean/renovate our own house, that some of the most important missions have gone on without our help.

There is still an organized effort to marginalize the sanctity of life, and its results are seen with the decaying values of those areas controlled by the minions of deceit. While the leftist women cry about their "V" rights being infringed, we still need to stand up for the lives they would so easily snuff out.  Right To Life of Michigan sends an update for Thanksgiving.

During this time of Thanksgiving, I want to give you an update on the work of Right to Life of Michigan and to thank you for your involvement.

Together our accomplishments have changed hearts and brought hope to our state.

    • In 2013, five Michigan abortion businesses closed their doors. We have helped close 10 abortion businesses in the last 23 months. Back in the late 1980's, there were approximately 72 free-standing abortion clinics operating in our state. Today, only 28 remain.
    • We are very close to "opting out" of mandatory abortion provisions found in the Affordable Care Act. Together we collected more than 316,000 signatures to initiate the Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act.
    • Michigan abortions performed in 2012 represent the second-lowest level since official record-keeping began back in 1976.
    • Teen abortions are down 73 percent since 1990.
    • Overall, we have cut the abortion rate in Michigan by more than half since the peak year of 1987.

While it is exciting to note a few of our accomplishments for 2013, we know our work is far from complete.
    Indeed it is.

We give thanks for the successes we've already seen. Yet a strong defender for the unborn needs to constantly replenish resources.  If you are so inclined, toss a coin or two.

Michigan Right To Life Ad Makes The Stakes Very Clear.

As you know, I am a supporter of Mike Cox for governor.  Why I am is based on a number of issues, but as previously mentioned a primary one is his ability to stand on an issue as a matter of principle, no matter the initial popularity of it.  We are a better state for his involvement in issues such as race, public safety, over reaching insurance non profits, and to be sure, one that is close to many hearts.. the right to life.

So I was pleased to hear a really great radio ad the other day by the Michigan Right To Life PAC.

The Michigan Right To Life PAC explains why it has selected only ONE candidate to endorse, why that candidate is Mike Cox.  As an aside, it is interesting to contrast the explanation provided by RTL of MI to that of the NRA when it provides cover for its endorsements. (Of course I use the word 'cover' to describe NRA endorsements, because they often shoot themselves by hawking BAD legislators and politicos with a unique single mindedness)  The Right To Life Pac in its ad, actually uses its weight to suggest people consider the alternate outcome that could result which is quite contrary to their goals.  But not in this case from the election of a 'typical' supporter of abortion on demand usually sponsored by the Democrat party..

    read on..
