  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    New Democrat Fire Breather?

The Michigan Democrat Party will demonstrate the [cough] high standards they represent with a challenge to party boss Mark Brewer.

Lon Johnson, a guy who still needs a map in order to safely travel through the district he attempted to represent, and who mounted a reasonable campaign against Republican Bruce Rendon in the great white North, has now thrown his hat in the ring. Apparently he enjoys the support of such stalwarts as Michigan Meat Puppet Debbie Stabenow, Carl Levin, and a miscellany of [not-so]secret socialists within their ranks.

Johnson, who had ads challenging "those corporations" in charge, showed old imagery of the trains in his ads ("Trains don't stop here now cause the big corporations running the show" - seriously) that had brought his ancestry to the area at a time that was presumably 'corporation free'.  Playing the social justice card, he did surprisingly well only 5 points away from the Republican in a reasonably conservative district.  Of course spending over $300K (and double opponent Bruce Rendon's $$$) gives one a leg up; and the class warfare irony is complete.

Brewer, arguably one of the most experienced chieftains of team bizarro, has recently been snubbed by the UAW, and in particular Bob King, who recently said "no mas senior Brewer"; threatening the engaged-at-the-hip relationship of labor and the Michigan Dems if Brewer was to remain.

We see little difference in philosophy of either man, or in what they will support.

The Michigan Democrats will support Fraudsters like Hathaway, Schemes like fake Tea, and Road money redistribution schemes like Snyder's until the end of time.  In a way, it would be interesting to see Brewer hang around a little more, and find out if Bob King is actually serious about withdrawing support from the MiDems; a love affair as old as progressivism itself.  Johnson's wife's fundraising skills, reportedly being responsible for $800 million shekels in the coffers of the Obama campaign however, might tempt even the best buds of the embattled Brewer, who also faces new claims as an accessory to the blown fake tea scheme.

    Good times.  Or not..

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Why Is Stabenow The Worst Senator? Let's Count The Ways

A website was recently launched, asking the question, "Why is Debbie Stabenow the Worst Senator?"  Plenty of response to this, so I'm told, and many people voicing their opinion as to why, according to them, Debbie The Dangerously Incompetent needs to go (upward of 13,000 replies to date, if I'm informed correctly).  Though I don't have that list handy, I did converse with a few Michigan tea partiers and review the responses on Pete Hoekstra's campaign FaceBook page.  The distilled feedback that I have follows the break.

The Meat Puppet Faces New Ads

Debbie Stabenow, favored hand covering for labor and leftist interests, is going to be challenged by Pete Hoekstra in November.

The emphasis as it turns out, will be placed on her part in not passing a budget in well over three years.  Calling her "NoBudgetDebbie", new ads point out that fact as well as the inability to be fiscally responsible on our behalf.

Below is the video accompanying the campaign.

Stabenow has to go. She is a disgrace to our state, and our country. She is ....

    Thursday Stabenow Update..

Its a new day folks!  The southern half of Michigan is now enjoying the benefits of global warming in the winter.  Folks have their deck chairs out, and the sun is beating down a new tan on the sol worshiping sunscreen slathered hard bodies at all of the local beaches and riversides, cause its another scorcher.. whew..

    What?

Oh pardon me.  Let me reel that back in just a wee bit before I embarrass myself with a remarkable lack of knowledge about what is happening around here.  Well, you know what I mean.  I mean 'knowledge', as in 'open eyes,' and even the slightest observation skills.  Senses to be sure!  By golly I need to FEEL what is going on don't I?  I mean, really FEEL what is going on in a way that leave no question how I should talk about it, report on it, or perhaps ACT on it.  In fact, maybe in the way that our junior Senator does:

"..the lack of global warming has left desperate politicians looking like fools.

"I feel global warming when I fly," says Senator Debbie Stabenow.  .."

    Looking?

Oh my.  Those nice boys at the Michigan view certainly are gracious. Undoubtedly, polite to the end.

No, dear readers, the woman is a moron.  A trainable moron, but a moron just the same.  And one who can be trained much like a dancing monkey for an organ grinder. ~ more below ~
