  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

I will be the first to call out the leadership when something they do is wrong.  Alternately, I must say when something they have done is so right.

    This..  Is SO right.

    Good Job MI GOP

He could have won.  Brian Calley was the selected Lt. Governor pick by Rick Snyder.  A late nomination by Republicans from the West Michigan Tea Party groups was both surprising and warmly welcomed by about half of those present.

I have absolutely NOTHING against Brian Calley, and know even less about Bill Cooper.  But one thing was clear, Cooper could have won this.  The video preceding this withdrawal makes it pretty clear.   This may seem strange, given my harsh criticisms of the past, but I have come to like Mr. Snyder.  Behind the scenes, while the MI GOP leadership was trying to avoid it, he supported Cooper's ability to have a fair vote.  He apparently had no objection to it.

This video demonstrates a unique character.  Something I have seen a few times recently, even while seeing its alternate.  A man CAN put the movement of ideas through a unifying motion and sacrifice his own goals.  It is likely this will not be the last we see of Mr. Cooper, as he has shown his ability to look at the bigger picture.

    The Hat is off sir.
