  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Credit Where it is Due

The Ivory Tower this morning has one of the most complete pieces on the Fake Tea Party Fiasco to date.

More information, more interviews, and an easier to follow trail to the Democrats. Including the following:

    The Free Press found:

    • Mike McGuinness, the recently resigned chairman of the Oakland County Democratic Party, who had denied any role in the Tea Party controversy, recruited his former stepmother to run for state representative.

    • Jason Bauer, 30, of Waterford, former operations director for the Oakland Democrats and McGuinness' roommate, notarized petitions for at least four affidavits to run for office for people who now -- directly or through a relative -- say they didn't sign the affidavits. Overall, he notarized 12 of 23 Tea Party candidate affidavits.

    • State Senate candidate Frantt Whitehill of Midland, who insists he's a real tea partyer, is a Democratic donor who ran for precinct delegate as a Democrat in August.

The article mentions reporters getting tossed from Mark Steffek's property, the multiple fraudulently filled out affidavits, and an ongoing grand jury investigation.  Add to this a complete and utter denial by Democrat party puppeteer Mark Brewer and would be ballot guard Jocelyn Benson, that they had any connection to the entire attempted vote stealing affair.

Kudos to the Ivo.. umm Free Press and its crack reporting on this.

Free Press: Snyder friendly to "moderates"

The Detroit Free Press had a very interesting bio piece on Rick Snyder this morning.  I'm surprised I'm the first commenting on it (my guess is the Snyder's camp will not be sending this story around).

Below is a passage every conservative needs to read, it's from the bottom of the story so I cut/pasted it below:

"He [Rick Snyder] supports using human embryos to create stem cells for medical research. He favors government recognition of rights for gay and lesbian couples much like those accorded married couples. He opposed the ban on race and gender preferences approved by Michigan voters in 2006."

After reading that, begs to question.... what party is Rick Snyder a part of, because those are NOT the ideals of the Republican Party.
