    Oh Yeah - THOSE Rules - Day 10 Dele-GATE

We have yet to see the minutes of the alleged meeting February 4th, where the rules were 'adjusted' for a winner take all of at large delegates.

In fact, there is really no proof the meeting ever took place.  The folks who occupy the credentials committee have had ample opportunity to PROVE their intent was not to subvert the rules for the gain of their guy, but are slow in even coming up with made up documentation.

Kinda sucks when not everyone is on board huh Saul? Bobby?

It also doesn't help when EVERYTHING points towards the rules being CHANGED February 29th. (After the contest was over)

Like the RNC Memo from way back in 2011. Below the fold

In February 2011, the rules were sent out with examples.

The RNC rules folks in 2010 established the delegate criteria for the 2012 nominating process.  They issued THIS MEMO, clearly outlining timelines and delegate allocation based on date of contests, with thresholds etc. The first section alone begins the case for Michigan:

"During the Republican National Committee's ('RNC") Summer Meeting in August 2010, the RNC adopted revised rules governing the 2012 presidential nominating schedule and the methods for allocating delegates to the 2012 Republican National Convention. Rule 15(bX2) of the revised Rules of the Republican Parry requires that "[a]ny presidential primary, caucus, convention, or other meeting held for the purpose of selecting delegates to the national convention which occurs prior to the first day of April in the year in which the national convention is held, shall provide for the allocation of delegates on a proportional basis." The new Subsection (2) requires that any state holding its presidential nominating process prior to April 1 include some form of proportional delegate allocation, as determined by the state. Any state holding its process on or after April I would be allowed to allocate national convention delegates on a winner-take-all basis."

    Oh snap.

Don't you just hate when we're right?

    Then down a little further:

ii. If total delegate allocation is split between delegates at-large and delegates by congressional district, delegates at-large must be proportionally allocated based upon the total statewide results.

Yada yada.. It goes on.  The one ace in the hole (a 50% threshold for winner take all) was never met by Mittens, so the MiGOP credentials folks HAD to change the rules or Mitt tied.

And can you believe there are suckers out there who actually believe Saul, and Bobby have integrity?

For anyone out there thinking this is fun, think again.  The only people we like to call out for this kind of corruption and complicity are the Michigan and National Democrats who live it day after day.  Its not fun finding out people whom our support has been given in the past are not worthy of it.  Republicans are supposed to be different.

Perhaps not all are, as we are finding out.

I invite any of the credentials committee to post their explanations here.  They have always had the opportunity. In fact, no surrogates have even put their heads out from the turtle shell hidey hole in the state party. No explanation of missing minutes, supporting paperwork, evidence, acknowledgement of changes, etc.

    Nothing.

The memo above was guidance for Michigan in its development of the rules.  In fact it was a requirement.

It seems a competent crew in leadership would at least have recorded the changes properly.  A competent crew in leadership would have at least explained how they were going AGAINST the RNC rules and changing to winner take all.  A reasonably up front notion of a change that was accepted by the campaigns would have been acknowledged by those campaigns.

    But they didn't even know.

So the fact remains there was one of two problems that should result in the dismissal of the those in the credentials committee.

    1. If the rules were in fact changed, no one was notified.  Not even the Chair who explained on February 8th in front of God and the media how we would wind up with a 15-15 vote.  It would be completely incompetent to ignore the results of that February 4th meeting to the point of taking no notes, making no announcement of the change, or notifying the campaigns, media, etc.

God help us in the election with that level of skills applied on our behalf.

    2. If the rules were NOT changed, and everything is as we have posted here and elsewhere, with documentation, statements by people involved, and common sense, then it is far worse.  We have machinery that will destroy our ability to ride the moral high ground when fighting the REAL ENEMY in November.  When we cannot follow the rules, it is so much harder to argue our superior message; one of true Republican governance.

Perhaps they do not care.  Perhaps too many do not.

And if so, where will we be in November?
