    Dear Taxpayer,

It will affect mostly seniors 65 and older, people whose household resource is more than $50,000 and those whose taxable property is over $135,000

    Merry Kissmyass,

    Lansing Republicans

    Good luck with '14, Governerd.

    B.O.H.I.C.A.

The guv shouldn't even bother to phone it in next year.

Between the soon-to-be "fiscal cliff" with the Speaker and willing flying monkeys like Rep. Miller advocating for tax hikes, and now this, the GOP label is going to have a hard time scrounging up anyone willing to vote for them the next go-round.

resources? It ain't in Detroit, Flint, or Saginaw. It is mainly those "rich white" elderly people who will get to pay this additional tax. At the time Jenni...er, uh, Ricky signed this into law, he had not been forced into RTW, and was tippytoeing around an EM for the City of Disaster. Let's see how all that love is returned by those asses he was frantically kissing when '14 rolls around. Somehow I don't feel like 1%.

One down two to go. (none / 0) (#4)

RTW is now the law of the land. Except for the whining weenies in the Marxist labor movement I am positive it will be approved by the courts if it gets that far. Other laws in other states that the Michigan RTW law was based on have been approved by the courts.
Next on the list "BETTER" be tax reform. I would say the two most preferable choices are this. A Fair Tax passed and signed into law. Or better yet a repeal of the income tax laws and no tax at all such as Florida and Texas have.
No taxes to be paid by lottery winners either.
After that it is time to repeal some of the regs the Wicked Witch of Western Canada saddled us with when she was squating in the gov's digs.
The second leg of the stool must be tax reform. Lower taxes across the board. Lansing and the rest of the county and state governments living within their means.
RTW means little without the other reforms to go with it. Why does Texas have the fastest growing economy in the country. All of the above. If Syndmole can't get it done maybe it is time to vote for somebody that really understands what is needed. And that would be nobody that is considered part of the political landscape in Michigan. Time to elect a common man with common sense. A man of the people and from the people.
