Today is probably one of the most productive days in Michigan's public school year.  Obama's minions, referred to by some as "teachers", are calling in sick en masse to protest "right-to-work" legislation.  Never mind the insanity of needing a "law" passed to allow people to ply their trade unmolested, school children are getting a much needed respite from listening to mental midgets hammering their brains with ministry approved propaganda.

They don't have to hear how FDR saved the country, how a lone gunman killed JFK, how Al Gore was too smart to president, how Barack Hussein Obama is their savior or how Michelle Obama is the incarnation of Jackie Kennedy.

Warren Consolidated Schools, Taylor School District and Fitzgerald Public Schools are confirmed to be closed. It is also suggested that schools in Detroit and St. Johns may be missing a significant number of teachers.

"We've had an excessive number of teachers call in," Warren district spokesperson Robert Freehan said Monday afternoon. "We're concerned about the safety and security of the students, so we're treating it as a snow day."

Almost on cue, CNSNEWS is reporting that only 7% of Detroit Public-School 8th Graders are proficient in reading.

In the public schools in Detroit, Mich., according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 7 percent of the eighth graders are grade-level proficient or better in reading.

Some public school teachers in the City of Detroit and around the state of Michigan are reportedly taking a vacation or a sick day today to protest right-to-work legislation likely to be approved by the state legislature. Under current law, Michigan public school teachers must pay dues to the teachers' union. If the right-to-work law is enacted, Michigan public-school teachers will be free to join the union and pay dues to it if they wish, but they will also be free not to join the union and not to pay it dues.

With results like a 7% learning proficiency, Detroit teachers would do their students a favor by calling in sick for the rest of the year.

that a collectivist group designed in part to protect its individual members from accountability would perform substandardly as a whole.

Who could have ever seen that coming?

    Dey founds extra 'bama stash.

Employees of Detroit Public Schools will receive a bonus in their paycheck next week as part of the district's budget surplus from last year.

Roy Roberts, DPS emergency financial manager, announced Tuesday the one-time bonus will be equivalent to 2 percent of the employee's base salary/wages for the 2011-12 fiscal year. It will be paid Dec. 21.

In August, Roberts announced the district would pay bonuses to 8,000 employees -- union and nonunion -- out of a projected $11.9 million budget surplus for the district. It was expected to cost the district $1.7 million. Updated figures were not immediately available Tuesday.

Roy Roberts is a total joke.
