Seriously, where do they find the opprobrious milksop like Anuzis, who are titled as leaders of the MI-GOP?  Amazing...

    Mitt Romney for President!

As we approach the first in the nation caucuses and primaries in January, I wanted to share why I have decided to publicly endorse and actively work in support of Mitt Romney's effort to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. There are four primary reasons for my support:

National Popular Vote.  RomneyBamacare.  As long as it has an R after its name.

    Yup.  That's Saul .. folks.

    From the link:
To paraphrase William F. Buckley, I think now, more than ever, it makes sense to support the most conservative candidate who can win...Mitt Romney is that candidate and now is the time to start rallying our forces.
My problem with Romney is that I see nothing on his political or business resume that would make me think he believes in a smaller government on the basis of principle or philosophy.

There simply is nothing on his resume that makes me think that he would act differently as President than he has acted as a big government Governor or as a big government benefactor/crony capitalist while in the private sector.

I understand the argument that is being made here (though I believe Ann Coulter makes it much better.)  According to Ann, the only thing that matters anymore in this upcoming election is the GOP's ability to overturn Obamacare.  If we fail in that endeavor the USA that we have grown to know and love will be gone forever.

This is a compelling argument.  And yet, I hesitate.

I do not want to throw in the towel as a conservative before the first primary even takes place.  We have months to go before the convention occurs, and we have months yet beyond that point before the election takes place.

Perhaps the argument that Azunis and Coulter make is a good one, but we still have time to swell the ranks of conservatives and to bolster the campaigns of conservatives still in the GOP race.  To say we must opt for arguably the least conservative candidate in the field because he can return the country to conservative footing is perplexing at the very least.

    Considering Romney in Iowa:

        1. Take 25% of the vote in 2008
        2. Campaign for 4 more years
        3. Poll at 23% in 2012
        4. Declare your nomination inevitable.

What!?! A politician said what they needed to say to get elected?? Surely that's never happened before. I refuse to believe it.

I think MR gets a bad rap on his governorship record. At that time, with his same views, it would be a whole different story in a different state. Depending on what state, a governor can appear 'more or less' than what is actual.

So, continuing to take a look is our best option along with going easy with using our words as fists.

MR has never been my first pick. Okay, not my second pick either. Still, I don't believe he's the liberal monster that is somewhat portrayed.

    BTW, thx, CS (none / 0) (#12)

For all you do around here, thanks. Sometimes it may seem unnoticed but it's appreciated a lot. Thank you!
