Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

Way to go with expanding Lansing, GoverNerd.

The new director of the state Office of Urban and Metropolitan Initiatives said Monday he plans to work with leaders in the state's biggest cities to help grow and invest in them.

Harvey Hollins III, 46, who was named to the post Monday by Gov. Rick Snyder, said he has a passion to help Michigan cities."I'm glad our governor is not afraid of Detroit and believes in a strong Detroit and that a strong Detroit is a critical ingredient to making a strong state," said Hollins, who had been vice president of government affairs at Wayne State University since 2004.

Not afraid of Detroit?  Who the Hell is this 'Hollins the third' clown trying to fool?  The GoverNerd and Lansing Legislature abso-freaking-lutely fudge in their race card fearing skivvies at the mere mentioning of the words "accountability" and "Detroit" in the same sentence.

The salary for the newly created position wasn't immediately available, but it will be paid initially by the W.K. Kellogg, C.S. Mott and Kresge foundations and DENSO Corp., an auto supplier.

Ain't that just a b!tch...  now our coerced tax dollars are going to eventually end up paying for the creation of a subtefuge department for some nobody figurehead clinger-on dug out of a subsidized LibTard indoctrination center in Detroit.  Face reality, folks.  When the teat of three Lefty Soros/Tides Foundation intertwined Kellogg, Kresge, Mott foundations and a Nipponese Chicom partnered Toyota Keiretsu monopoly funding runs out... we'll quietly be forced to pick up the tab.

With friends like the GoverNerd in Office, who needs Mark Brewer's Michigan Democratic Party?

Since when was that ever within the duty of state government?

And I really could care less about who pays his salary initially. Who will be signing his checks once that initial money dries up? This guy is sounding more like Granholm by the minute.

And Mr. Hollins is a little premature about the guv's take on Detroit.

I have yet to hear back from anyone in his office regarding my offer to take him on a tour of the real city of Detroit.

The fact that he won't walk the very same streets he's encouraging others to walk in speaks volumes.

This is exactly what we need, a brand new Office of Urban and Metropolitan Initiatives.

What government leaders in Detroit need to realize is, and this is not rocket science folks, that if you want a vibrant Detroit you have got to make it easier for businesses to make a profit.  That's it.  There is no other answer.

What good does mass transit do for a business that cannot make a profit inside the city?  What good does brand new library furniture do for businesses that cannot make a profit inside the city?  What good does a bright city park do for a business that cannot make a profit inside the city?  What good does a brand new Office of Urban and Metropolitan Initiatives do when its motivations are to entice businesses to move back absent a profit motive?

Reduce taxes.  Eliminate corruption.  Reduce regulations.  Voila!  In two or three decades you have a more vibrant city.  (Sorry folks, Detroit wasn't destroyed overnight, and it will not become resurrected in the bat of a bureaucrat's eye either.)

Now, which one of those foundations to you suppose will ante up my salary?
