Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

A Republic ... If You Can Keep It

So said Benjamin Franklin in response to our created nation.  No words could be more timely than today.

A state lawmaker wants Michigan to join the trend of states banning "foreign laws," but Muslim activists say the effort is a thinly veiled attack on Islam.

Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, is pushing a bill to bar the implementation of foreign laws. It doesn't mention Sharia -- Islamic law -- but he acknowledged it would be prohibited in courts under the legislation intended to prevent anyone "who tries to shove any foreign law down our throats."

"No foreign law shall supersede federal laws or constitution or state laws or constitution," Agema said. "Our law is our law. I don't like foreign entities telling us what to do."

Agema said his bill would protect the "vast majority" of Muslims, whom he contended "come to this country to get away from Sharia."

But, is that really what the muhammadans want?

There's plenty of room for doubt.

The legislation comes at a time of heightened debate about Sharia, a set of religious rules governing personal conduct, family relationships and religious practice for Muslims. Critics fear Sharia could supersede civil law and have an impact on divorce and child custody cases, and similar legislation has been introduced in 25 states.

Could 50% of the states in this nation somehow be that misguided in what they see as need for similar legislation?  I think not.  Nor do the overwhelming majority of Americans when asked about putting the brakes on creeping sharia in America.

Should Michigan join the trend of states banning "foreign laws?"

Yes, it would strengthen our legal system: 76.66%

Not sure it would do much of anything: 5.31%

No, it would pander to anti-Muslim paranoia: 18.04%

Matter of fact, where is the alleged "vast majority" of Muslims voice other than the radical Rep. Tlaib in Lansing?

Ya, that sounds like a real "Pro America" voice for our Laws by the representative muhammadan elected to Office in this state.  Even her father called her out on election fraud and Lansing did nothing.

State Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, plans to speak out about the bill during a press conference Tuesday in Midtown. Victor Begg, a prominent Republican and co-founder of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan, called the bill "appalling."

"Some in our party find it politically opportune to target my faith by sponsoring an innocuous sounding bill, knowing well that their intent is so-called 'creeping Sharia,'" Begg said.

Is there any doubt that the MI-GOP has serious problems?  Pogo is right.  You can't fix the Democrat problem until you fix the Republican problem.  Let's look at old "Victor Begg, a prominent Republican and co-founder of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan" for a moment.

As to the attempted Christmas Day bombing, Begg was reported in the Detroit News saying this: "The Muslim community is upset with what happened on Christmas Day, that this man tried to blow up the plane in the name of a faith in our own backyard."

Oh no he didn't! Yes, he said "a faith." Begg can go no farther than to say the Christmas Day attack was done in the name of a, unnamed, unrecognized, probably better-off-forgotten religion with which he and the Council of Islamic Organizations are not affiliated.

There's who Victor Begg, a prominent Republican and co-founder of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan really is.  Reaffirming our American Laws are "appalling" to Victor Begg, a prominent Republican.  Talk about your bogus Republican camels nose in the tent metaphor in practice.  Perhaps, Victor needs to take an honest look at islam and their Ramadan Bombathon 2011 Scorecard.  Day 14: In the name of The Religion of Peace 63 Terror attacks, 175 Dead bodies.  In the name of All other Religions?  0.

Victor, get out of my tent.  Are you listening, Mr. Schostak?  Has the MI-GOP learned anything from their embarrassing 2008 Ali Jawad/McCain problem?

    Agema called the criticism "hogwash."

    Damn straight, Rep. Agema!

"If anybody has a problem with this that means they don't agree with U.S. laws," he said. "If they don't want it passed then they have an ulterior agenda. It shows the people accusing me of that (bigotry) are guilty of it themselves."

    Well said.

The bill was introduced in June and hasn't made it to a legislative committee, and its fate is unclear.

If I were placing bets on this Republican Majority, it'll sit like protections from illegal aliens in our state... under a lead ass Republican afraid to buck the Nerd and his cheap labor.

Yannow, Benjamin Franklin had another expression that is just as timely too.

He that lieth down with Dogs, shall rise up with Fleas.

    Indeed.

It's not as if the good representative and her fellow Muslims would EVER resort to taqiyya in situations like this?

Rep. Tlaib, a muHAMmadan first -American had her little dog and pony show the other day that yielded interesting results.

Should Michigan join the trend of states banning "foreign laws?"

Yes, it would strengthen our legal system: 78.43% +1.77

Not sure it would do much of anything: 5.88% +0.57

No, it would pander to anti-Muslim paranoia: 15.69% -2.35

Those figure supporting our American legal system are bigger numbers than the ones that sent Snyder to the Office of Governor.

Jase, send this legislation to his desk.
