The best news I've read today has to be this.

Businessman and likely presidential candidate Herman Cain may not be all that well known among Republicans, but those who know him really like him, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday.

In a relatively diffuse Republican presidential field, where a number of the candidates have limited name recognition among primary voters, Gallup has created a metric called `positive intensity,' which measures the candidate's favorability rating among the people who know him or her.

Cain, who only has a 29 percent name recognition according to Gallup, has a positive intensity score of 24, higher than any other candidate that Gallup polls. Michele Bachmann has the second highest score of 21.

Now, here is Mr. Cain's speech from May 14, 2011

    He's in!

Mr. Cain, consider me one of "Them that's goin'".

Positives high in those who know who he is, and low negatives in those that know him.

A little more success in another of the debate venues and this guy can lap the others.

ALSO good to see that Bachmann also in same range.

She has really matured as a potential contender very well.

    Ouch!

He and Rep. Paul are infinitely better that that flip-flopping, romney-care creating joke of a candidate that Fox is pushing for.

Seriously, I'm surprised that no one has walked up to Romney and done this yet.

I just did a short post on the media's coverage of Herman Cain.

I began listening to Cain on my recent trips to Atlanta--he had a local talk radio program in the early evenings up until a few months ago.  This guy is no nonsense and he isn't afraid of anyone.

The media seems to be more than willing to ignore him at this point.  I think they will continue to do so until they are forced to reckon with him.
