As many of you know, we have determined the source of the signature gathering, and set up of "The Tea Party" of Michigan political party.  As it was expected by most political observers, Mark Brewer's gang of liars cheats and thieves was found to be complicit, and without question the origin of the fraudulent placement of the party on the ballot through the signature process. The question of course, is what to do about it.

The MI GOP is not laying down to be kicked for this one.. Not this time.

Lansing, MI--Challenges on the Steffek Tea Party were filed this week on behalf of Republican candidates across the state.

On Monday, Aug. 16, a letter was delivered to the secretary of state's office requesting the Secretary of State and Bureau of Elections reject the candidates who were submitted by the Steffek group and that his group itself not be placed on any ballot.

Tuesday, challenges to the petitions filed by Steffek's group were submitted to the Board of State Canvassers showing how Steffek's group initiated a fraud against the people of Michigan.

    Initiated, and achieved..  More below.

    The press release continues:

"The nearly 60,000 people who signed these petitions did so in good faith," said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser.  "They signed this petition because they wanted to be part of the process and make a difference in our state and national government.

"Steffek's actions only disenfranchised good-intentioned residents who wanted to participate in the process.  He perpetrated a fraud against the people of this state and should be held accountable for his actions," Weiser said.

A summary of the complaints filed include:

    • Would-be candidates listed on the Certification of Tea Party Nomination were nominated at the convention on July 24.  However, all but one affidavit filed were pre-dated, or completed prior to convention.
    • Failure to follow statutory requirements regarding a call to convention.

"It is clear the intent of Steffek's group is to confuse the votes and hinder the Democratic process of fair elections," said David Robertson, Republican senate candidate in the 26th District.  "Michigan residents deserve better than that.  These activists wanted to be part of the process; instead they were misled and deceived.  I sincerely hope the Bureau of Elections will act swiftly in this matter."

Sadly, there are so many trusting folks who upon seeing a gadsden symbol will think that person represents their values.  Even more so, its sad that the Democrat party feels the need to hide its involvement in the political process in such a manner.

Read the letter.  It lays out a compelling case that the SOS and Bureau of Elections would find hard to ignore.

Obviously these shennanigans are not worthy of an investigation by the free press or the news or our lowly lansing state journal.

These action show an utter lack of self confidence (none / 0) (#2)

Rather than become better, these types show their complete lack of integrity by cheating their way to their objective. Which is what one must do when intending to deceive and defraud the citizens.

Information and education is key so people can begin to realize what is good and true. Thank you, Jason, for doing so much in this area.

As far as I am concerned - much more of this needs to be done on the GOP side and LOUDLY!  The MSM won't report on lib cheating so someone has to do it.

I also say hats off and a big thanks to people like JGillman and others who do the digging and uncover this crap.  We just need a bigger platform to get the word out as the big news outlets will not repeat it to protect their liberal hidden agendas.

    Why am I not surprised? (none / 0) (#4)

No, I'm not talking about the Journal and Freep sitting this one out. They just don't want to make their own look bad. The News sitting on this one doesn't really surprise me either (sorry, Nolan Finley...but your paper has lost its way).

However, the self-appointed election "watchdogs", yes I'm talking about the one and only Michigan "Truth Squad"...nary a peep.

Doesn't anyone find it unusual that a group which said this on its own website:

"For too long some Michigan politicians and their consultants have stretched the truth, broken trust with the voters, and ignored the consequences of their campaigns. The result is undue mistrust in our political process, one that is ultimately controlled by voters - ideally informed voters like you who are taking the time to learn about the issues and the people who will represent them in our representative democracy."

Won't turn an eye in the direction of these Tea Party wannabes?
