Representative Fred Upton (r) CD-6, incoming Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, has already publicly committed himself to bucking the global unions:

"We have heard the grass roots loud and clear, and will have a hearing early next Congress," said Mr. Upton, a Michigan Republican who is facing several others in his party in a bid to earn the gavel of the powerful committee. "The last thing we wanted to do was infringe upon personal liberties - and this has been a good lesson that Congress does not always know best."

Sounds good, eh?  Confession and redemption usually does.

The EU's response to incandescent light bulb bans?

    There will be no exceptions.

A German man has failed in an attempt to circumvent the EU ban on 100 watt incandescent lightbulbs by rebranding the product as Heatballs.

An EU wide ban on the importation and sale of the powerful bulbs was imposed last year on environmental grounds.

Customs will now seize and destroy 40,000 bulbs imported by Siegfried Rotthäuser must be destroyed.

Talk to me Mr. Upton.  Show me some freedom loving, American sized stones against these destructive global union progressive agendas...

    "The game is up."

Indeed.  It's showing itself in signs of a global "TEA movement".

I have a lot of confidence in Upton.  After all he did promise to compromise his own principles in order to gain his chairmanship.

A man willing to throw out his beliefs in order to gain power is the kind of guy I want to rule the world!
