    Interesting Mackinac Center piece..

If anyone has ever wondered what the REAL reason for the commerce 'clause' was..  Bone up and compare, contrast, this may be as close as anything gets.

    roughly 6 months ago.

I will prolly be going down to Indiana (cigs & booze is cheaper dontchya know) occasionally to stock up reserves at my man cave.

Is it just me that thinks this way?  Nope.

It's actually worked out very well.  I'm even planning a trip down to South Carolina... 7¢ /pack tax?  God bless 'em down there.

What is so novel here is the mere idea that people might strive to operate in their own best interests.

    <sarcasm> Are you nuts!

Who will pay for all of the entitlement programs supported by those taxes?</sarcasm>

I was approached a few years ago about making a little side money (actually, it was a lot of money), to make a little side trip on my way back from Kentucky when I had a regular run through there.

I politely declined, but it doesn't surprise me with what's going on and why.

Government still hasn't learned its lessons on social engineering from Prohibition.

I don't expect that to change any time in the foreseeable future.
