This in from Joanne Voorhees, Chair of the Kent County Republican Committee (KCRC). Those of you in West Michigan (or within driving range of Grand Rapids in any event) who would like to have a chance to meet the Republican candidates for the 2010 Michigan Gubernatorial Election are cordially and enthusiastically invited.

The Kent GOP will be hosting a reception at River House Condos at Bridgewater Place - 30th floor from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Monday, June 29.

Featured guests include Republican Gubernatorial candidates Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Attorney General Mike Cox, State Senator Tom George, Congressman Pete Hoekstra, and Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land.

Tickets for the event are $25 per person and are available by contacting the Kent GOP at 616-459-0141 or e-mailing chairman@kentgop.org. They're moving fairly fast, so contact KCRC and hold one if you even might attend.

As I understand it, each candidate is going to have five minutes to speak, and then it becomes a "mingle" event. Appropriate dress is "one step below business casual." So khaki pants and a polo shirt (or whatever the women's equivalent is) will work well.
