After being 3 Days Late And $3,500 Short, risking a revocation of his probation, Kilpatrick moved into a mansion bigger than Manoogian! I kid you not! Here's the headline from the Detroit Free Press: Kilpatrick's new home bigger than Manoogian.

So after defrauding the City of Detroit, with both ineptitude and corruption, he plea bargains down to a $1 million restitution for reduced time in the can. Gets out, gets a cushy job at Compuware paying up to $300k annually, thus returning favors that Kwame granted the company during his tenure as mayor. Plus, he left a small fortune in his campaign war chest that he used illegally to defend himself in court. Now he's crying crocodile tears that he's poor while moving into a million-dollar mansion? From the freep article:

Kwame Kilpatrick, who claimed that he could spare only $6 a month for restitution to the City of Detroit, moved into a million-dollar home over the weekend that dwarfs the Manoogian Mansion.

At 5,866 square feet, Kilpatrick's new digs, which he is leasing in tony Southlake, Texas, are nearly 50% larger than the city-owned mansion he used to occupy as Detroit mayor, before the text message scandal cost him his job and his freedom. The Detroit mansion is just 4,004 square feet.

Kilpatrick's home is in a gated community and is listed for sale at $1.1 million. It has five bedrooms, five and a half baths, a game room, a study, a formal dining room and an inground pool.

Jim Carlisle, who owns the home, would not say how much the former mayor is paying to lease it. The Kilpatricks moved in Saturday, leaving their 2,839-square-foot rental home 3 miles away.

Kilpatrick's lawyer said there is a perfectly good explanation.
Isn't there always a good explanation for what this clown does? The excuse this time? "He was uncomfortable with people walking up and knocking on his door." Jehovah's witnesses? Girl Scouts? Welfare recipients selling magazine subscriptions?
The article doesn't say, but it does say this: And someone else -- name withheld -- is helping him pay his new lease.
Quid pro quo! All the favors that he did for his buddies while mayor are coming right back to him. Is there anyone else in existence that has a greater sense of entitlement that Kilpatrick? I wonder if his next court appearance will be for not paying the gift tax on the contribution to the IRS.

and let him spend more time in jail. He clearly hasn't learned humility or his lesson, he is just as arrogant as ever. Extradite him as he is obviously in violation of his terms of release.
