Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

I guess it wasn't enough for the Obama administration to fire a private company Chairman and CEO.  Now, they feel they have to come in and try to help run the private company as well.  It was announced today, as seen here in the Ivory Tower, the Obama Auto Task Force is sending 15 people to help with GM restructuring.  Now, I believe that it is good to have some outside people look at business and see where it can be improved.  But, would you look to government employees for that.

    Read On...

GM was told that they are spending too much money on vehicles that nobody wants to buy.  So, lets bring in government experts who believe it is okay to spend funds on researching the flatulence of pigs in Iowa.

GM was told that it is not going fast enough.  So, lets bring in the government who passes a stimulus bill that takes 3 years to spend the stimulus money.  GM can design a brand new vehicle in the same time it takes the government to write a check.  But, they must be experts in being fast acting, because they are the government.

GM was told that it needed to restructure its debt and get it reduced.  So, bring in the experts who only know how to double the national debt (that took 200 years to make) in just 10 years.  GM must show its viable.  So, lets hear from the experts who only can be viable by printing more money.

GM was told to get its health care costs and labor costs under control.  So, lets hear from the experts who are there thanks to union political donations that have been sucked out of their members' pockets.

Now, here's the funny part (yes, there really is a funny part).  This team of 15 is being lead by a former hedge fund manager.  Doesn't that just inspire the confidence of hope everyone is now supposed to have.  This is like bringing in the shooter to treat the gun shot victim.  Its the financial guys on Wall Street that caused the credit meltdown that force GM to go the government for help.  But, lets bring one of them in to help fix the problem.

I realize its important for GM to restructure and get it done quickly.  They have a government imposed deadline to get it done.  But, why does the government need to come in to just slow everything back down again.

When you ask for gubmint money... (none / 0) (#1)

It's the golden rule.  He who has the gold makes the rules.

When you ask for gubmint money, you get to play by the rules the gubmint sets.

Don't whine later that the rulemaker changed the rules in the middle of the game.
