All Veterans Are Not AlikeBy maidintheus, Section News
As we enjoy the comforts our heroes and veterans have secured without complaint during hardship and even death, we complain about everything. We complain about not having enough time to vote, a benefit that others have given their all to secure that freedom for us.
I must remind us that the Confederate is removed from this acknowledgment. If one goes back and reads the Confederate papers, what they stood for and believed, it's not very pretty. We're still today trying to live that down in this country. They made it more difficult on the rest of us. I mean no disrespect, and appreciate that some may not have realized what they were standing for. But I feel responsible to take a stand for Conservative values and even the party of Lincoln. The Confederate did not want to Conserve the Union. They wanted to destroy it. They wrote their own Constitution as it suited them. It's not a pretty read either and even distorts Biblical principles. I mean no disrespect and I mean no disrespect in the rest of this article...
In the 60's the Confederate ideologists jumped the Democrat ship and The Party of Lincoln has endured them since. I'm fed up with being slandered by their racist beliefs. I find no honor in it. I'd rather go down with honor then go down being accused of racism.
It's past time to take a stand for the Conservative Right. Again, I mean no personal disrespect but it's important to get our personal selves out of the way and take a stand for something bigger then self. Go study it out and you'll see that the Confederate didn't stand for our precious Union and our Constitution. They were colonial separatists, in error thinking that all men were not created equal. Many gave their life to correct this error, even honest Abe. We can at least take a simple defense against that error and be above reproach, at any cost and in honor of the veterans of this Union for which we stand, one nation under God . If we are afraid to lose their support from our ranks, this is an error and a grave burden. We conservatives must not act from fear but from what's right. We must remember that they're traditionally not a loyal lot anyway. They would have broke away from us, lest we've forgotten. So it's not wise to continue to let them hijack our good name. Perhaps the social issues that seem to concern us on each street where we live would be 'added unto us' in due time if we were more brave to stand for the major issues that our Federal Government should be a leader of. There are some things that our Federal Government shouldn't be dictating. We should be more aware of how to develop the right things here, on the ground. We say we don't want a big Government, yet we spend all our time whining about social issues every four years rather then doing what it takes in between time, the other three years. The Federal Government is a slow and cumbersome way to get a social issue accomplished. It just seems easier because we have less demand on ourselves. Look how long it has taken for worthy social changes from the Feds, as we the people continue to do little on a daily basis to stand up for those who are asked to ride at the back of the bus, the unborn, education, religious freedoms, etc. We have learned nothing by history, can't hardly be bothered to vote in a General election, and are almost 100% unrepresented in our local politics. We talk a lot though, and claim to be Right. What are we Conserving? God bless the United States of America, and God bless its Veterans.
