Oops! I stole Nick's story title, sort of.
I just wanted to point out that if everyone sent the McCain campaign a dollar, or two, or five, it would make a difference along with Nick's other suggestions in his story.
Now for the Paul Harvey thing:

If we really want a McCain presence in MI we could easily assist in this way.
Because I'm interested in hearing more, I will.  What say you.

    I think it would work.

I also think I messed up the little 'vote' thing I attached. Oh, poo!

Governor Palin told Fox News reporter Carl Cameron that she had sent an email asking the campaign not to give up here and to let her and Todd come to Michigan and meet the people. She understands the challanges here that we face.
To her I would say. Come to Michigan we will welcome you with open arms. This state can be won it will just take the effort. There are many different angles at work here and I think the dynamics taken as a whole will give this state to the Republicans for the first time in nearly two decades. WE CAN WIN. I hope we see the Governor here in our state. It would tell us alot.
Seems nice to have something nice to say about a Governor. Even if she is from another state. Seems like a new experience.

. . . I'm willing to allow that this is probably yet another head-fake by John McCain (similar to all of the head-fakes that he threw out there in the two weeks before announcing the Sarah Palin pick).

However, the non-performance of his online store with my pre-paid order has me very, very skeptical right now.  (That was $230+ of my hard-earned cash.)  It's going to take more than a jaw-dropping surprise move to earn my vote (and my money) back.

Like, say, delivering my merchandise anyway with a hand-written apology from John himself.

    No, Maid, I think not.

Just more than a little annoyed due to non-delivery.  John McCain, as a retired Navy Captain who has actually had a command assignment, would understand my displeasure.  (So would Sarah Palin, who's actually run a business.)  I'm less than thrilled that "not-Michigan" orders would get filled before mine (when I paid first), but that was merely the final straw on a list of disappointments.

That having been said, it's not November 4th yet.  I'll give Maverick a chance to re-earn my vote.

I posted a letter from Vern Ehlers (whom I happen to have on speed-dial) that goes into some detail on the bailout package that didn't get pressplay.  Included in that post is an interesting video . . . check it out.

Under the threat of me recalling my "contribution" most of my merchandise was delivered today via UPS-overnight.  (Not sure when the rest is coming; I'll check on that tomorrow.)

Just a dissatisfied customer who made his displeasure public knowledge.  (Recall petitions are another way to do that.)

    Quick Clarification (none / 0) (#10)

Maid, the mention of "confederate" was meant (if you'll read the post properly) to correctly identify a conflict that is popularly, but wrongly, referred to as the American Civil War.

One of the most basic assumptions of a civil war is that the two parties are struggling for control of the same government; the loser will be subject to the winner.

However, the Confederate States of America, had they won, would have broken completely away from the United States and wanted nothing to do with Washington, DC.

This would be like calling the American Revolution the Second English Civil War.

Therefore, the proper name for the 1861 - 1865 conflict is the War of Confederate Rebellion.

For the record, my ancestor in question served in the U.S. 23rd Infantry Division.  (At least as far as I've been able to trace the family tree.)

Re-read the post you are referring to . . . please.
