Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Done Until Sunday?

According to The Detroit Free Press, the state House has taken the proposed tax bill down for now.  The next attempted fleecing will come on Sunday.

I'm not sure if that means no further votes on tax hikes will occur between now and Sunday.  It wouldn't be unheard of for a sudden vote to take place.

But hopefully we will be able to rest for a couple hours before the battle begins anew.  Stay tuned for further developments and be sure to let your representatives and those referenced in the previous post know how you feel.

So far, we're winning.  Keeping up the pressure will be critical to realize final victory.

So the Republicans can hob-nob at Mackinac Island and Jewish members can observe Yom Kippur.

If that remark does not qualify as anti-Semitism, NOTHING does.

Keep posting.   Your views and anti semitism are enlightening.

You guys are idiots. It's a statement of fact that a session isn't being held so that Jewish members can observe Yom Kippur. There's absolutely nothing anti-semitic about that.

Look at the first part of your response.

You're "statement of fact" also implies the session was also ended for the Mackinac meeting.....you just can't have it both ways now, can you?  Your implication continues to be an indictment of time off for a religious observation.....

Then why wasn't the Senate scheduled to meet until Sunday? And why was that schedule set before last night's vote?

According to the tax foundation's booklet I have on my desk, (2004 is the most recent numbers available), Michigan takes in $5,547 per capita and spends $5,214 per capita.

Let's get back on topic and return to sniping at each other over who wants to tax Michigan's families into oblivion and who wants to pay teachers the minimum wage.  After all, that's what this whole debate between both sides has degenerated into.

That gives us a state surplus of $333 per capita (that's the amount basically to run our government or put into savings).  That puts us at #40.  ND is #1 at $3,192 surplus and Kansas at #50 with a $60 deficit for FY 2004.
