The same Family Law system that denies children their father also threatens fathers with jail and property confiscation if they don't continue their employment level prior to the custody dispute and then provides a disincentive for mothers to work because if they did their tax free child support would be lowered. Furthermore by the government using policies and laws that routinely create non-custodial quarter time fathers the government has fostered the overall belief that it is more important for men to work and earn then it is for women. The Family Law system and government bureaucracies have demonstrated that they have no interest in doing what's best for children so we must reign them in by forcing them to presume that parents are equal and that children need both of their parents to develop and thrive.  We must raise the importance of the father in the home by having a presumption of equal child custody law within the state's child custody laws and the federal Title IV-D law plus the state's incentive to create non-custodial parents must be removed by ending support collection amount based incentive reimbursement payments. These two actions will go along way in allowing fathers to be more involved with raising their children and allowing mothers to spend more time developing their careers and earnings.
