    Bingo! (4.33 / 3) (#10)

If I withhold my vote from Judge Wonderbread, and she alone loses (Markman and Zahra winning), the ROL majority remains intact.  Therefore, the grassroots network withholding their vote sends a message without causing undue damage.

However, the only way to unseat Obama and Stabenow is to vote for Romney and Hoekstra, respectively.  So they'll get my vote, and we'll deal with the rotten apples within the state party later.  (That's what the November 2012 and February 2013 conventions are for.)

I don't begrudge anyone voting in accord with their conscience.  Although, I would note one item: it is not guaranteed that Markman will finish first or even retain his seat.  Recall, in 2010, Mary Beth Kelly was the top vote-getter, beating even Robert Young--a current Justice of the Court.  Now, that wasn't a problem because the top two vote-getters received seats on the Court.  Note also that in the past two elections, incumbents lost: Clifford Taylor in 2008 and Alton Davis in 2010.  Thus, I am not sure that one should assume that it is a foregone conclusion that the line will be held this election.  Our side could sweep all three seats; the other side could sweep all three seats; or it could be any combination of three out of the six major candidates.
