    I agree (none / 0) (#22)

    1. I agreed with the prior commenter that the tea party/conservative momentum of 2010 played a huge role in winning the seats; I was therefore not contradicting the prior comment, but supplementing it.

    2. Kelly and Young won by much more than the number of tea party votes cast last election; the party DID make a major push, DID put a ton of resources behind that race, and DID commit to make the MSC a priority.  I don't think that it takes anything away from the importance of the conservative grassroots in 2010 to point out these facts.

    3. Chalking O'Brien up as the "establishment approved" candidate rings a bit hollow now since she was chosen by a popular vote of the delegates.  Yes, she had much GOP "establishment" support, but she won the race.  So, vote for her, don't vote for her--it is no skin off my back. But the convention is over and fostering the "she wasn't my preferred candidate" sentiment helps no one, except perhaps Bridget McCormack and Connie Kelley.

    4. I'm a dude--Phil.
