Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Residences (none / 0) (#2)

I generally didn't make the effort to look up residences.  My primary goal was to make a map friendly to Republicans and only secondarily to protect current incumbents.

In some cases, the problems you mention would be easily addressed by swapping a few townships here and there.  In other cases, they can't be helped without adding breaks (not great) or making the map worse for Republicans (worse).  Probably no map will protect everybody, or make everyone happy.

To the point of running incumbents against (none / 0) (#3)

    each other in the mapping

I believe it must be overlooked.  If we try to satisfy incumbency to the point of making the districts sloppy, it doesn't serve us too well.

Locally, I am looking at a redistricting that will possibly place my own position (county commissioner) at odds with another Republican who I would vote for in a heartbeat.  I would not run, and would support him and other preferred candidates in some way.

Its not about the man, but rather the ideas.

    They Could Move (none / 0) (#5)
by Conservative First on Mon May 09, 2011 at 01:30:33 PM EST
It may not be ideal, but members could move if they have to.  If I recall correctly, Sen. Valde Garcia moved from Clinton to Livingston after being drawn out of his district.  Rep. Fulton Sheen moved when he first ran in 2002.
