"The controversy surrounding Mullin began after she took a $200,000 severance payment from Wayne County when she left as chief development officer to take the airport job.

It quickly grew with revelations that she got $75,000 from a nonprofit funded by businesses that had county contracts and that she was paid thousands of dollars in unused sick and leave time.

Since then, the FBI has begun an investigation into county operations. Also, the Free Press revealed that Mullin's claim of bringing $5.5 billion worth of investments into the county was inflated."

And unlike the previous AG who was doing...whatever during the last big Wayne County scandal, Scheutte at least acknowledged that there was some funny business afoot and that the he would act if the feds let him know that state laws were violated.
