    Misunderstanding on your part . . . (none / 0) (#5)

    . . . a couple of them, in fact.

First, "Independence Caucus" and "Independent Voter" aren't the same thing.  If I actually have to explain that difference to you then we've got bigger problems.

Second, IC doesn't do its digging on candidates unless they are willing to submit to the vetting process.  (Or did you miss that detail?)

I'm going to expect you to check out their site and do your own homework on this, but the group actually got its start in the 2008 campaign in the 3rd Congressional District of Utah.  In that campaign, they succeeded in un-seating a corrupted Republican incumbent in the primary and then beating an equally corrupt Democrat challenger.  The winner?  A fella by the name of Jason Chaffetz.  (Spare me the religion garbage; you're better than that.)

At that time, IC wasn't big enough to handle more than that one congressional district.  However, they linked up with the nationwide tea party movement, and have since spread their influence into (so far as I am aware) all 50 states.  At the last time I checked, in Michigan they've given endorsements in three state legislative races, and are expecting to give an endorsement in the 3rd Congressional District (Ehlers' vacancy) and 2nd Congressional District (Hoekstra's vacancy).

    My bad (none / 0) (#14)

My bad that I didn't check out their website but by reading your post you made them sound 100% Independent.  I see where they are a newly found group and therefore probably did not have time to vet Zero.  I would hope that groups like this get even stronger seeing as how the national media refuse to do their job.

That said, I do support the Fair Tax 100% as I feel it takes the power away from politicians and their cronies who line their pockets for votes.  I would hope it would eliminate ALL lobbyist too.

I am going to wait to see some debate between the candidates before I make a decision.  Right now I favor Hoekstra. BUT I want some one with big enough nads to come in and CLEAN house.  The spending has to stop and cuts HAVE to be made along with some union busting if Michigan is going to survive.

    Appreciate your passion.

    While I'm thinking about it . . . (none / 0) (#25)

    . . . I'm pretty sure that I owe you an apology.

I've not been a regular poster here in awhile, but I seem to remember you as another regular (or at the very least, a friendly irregular).  As such, you're an ally.

With that in mind, even though I may have had a deep-seated philosophical beef with what I perceived as "inattention to detail," I had no business using you as my warm-up target before turning my flamethrower loose on Ralphie down below.

For where I may have crossed that line of shredding an ally, I apologize.
