I was talking about the Senate (none / 0) (#7)

not the House. I am well aware of the House issues. What bugs me is that the Senate didn't want to play hard-ball with the guv, so they caved to Dillon.

Not everything that the GOP wants to do is what I want done. I have many issues that I disagree with the conservatives on. If a conservative wants my votes, he's got to quit sucking up to the corporations, and work for the local, Michigan economy.

It ticks me off that small businesses are going out of business rapidly here in TC, and all we get from Lansing are tax breaks for corporations to come to Michigan. Why not give those tax breaks to MICHIGAN companies?

Repealing the MBT would be a great start. Repealing the smoking ban would be another. Cutting DHS, and fully privatizing foster care (like you did adoption) would help immensely to save this state money. And how about TAX CREDITS (not forbidden under the MI Constitution) for those of us who send our kids to private schools or home educate them (I do both)?

That would break the unions...and bring balance to the Force.

    One more thing... (none / 0) (#8)

how about a tax credit for charitable giving? This is an easy way for the state to move away from welfare. Of course, cutting some of the entitlement programs would have to coincide with the tax credits or else it would be counter-productive.
