And like all things... (none / 0) (#2)

...the devil is in the details.

I'll give AG Cox kudos for saying things that need to be said. I hope that his run for guvernor had nothing to do with it, but I digress.

Now, after reading the Detroit News Article, this part stuck out the most:

"Cox said he hasn't hammered out details of how a rebate might work or how much an individual taxpayer might receive."

In his defense, Mr. Cox advocates sending out a rebate check at the end of the article, but he doesn't specify exactly to whom.

Are we talking about a rebate check directly only to taxpayers? Are we talking about "targeted" rebate checks only to certain businesses (then invoking "trickle down")? And what will happen when (you'll note that I didn't say "if"), the Michigan Legislature tells Mr. Cox what he can go do with himself and his idea for a rebate?

According to the local TV news stations in Detroit (unfortunately, a link isn't available at the moment), the basis for his claim that the Headlee Amendment has been violated.

Will AG Cox sue the State of Michigan to see that our money is returned...and directly to us?
