    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Any time you hear the "pre-exisitng" canard used to defend a gun directing our personal choices, point em this way.

Sounds like hyperbole, right?  Well, depends upon your perspective after you read what I have to say.

Its been inspiring to watch Senator Ted Cruz and REAL patriots talk on the Senate floor all night long.

Pushing into the 20th hour and still going strong, there appears to be clear differences where our state GOP is as compared to the party leadership nationally.  About 19 hours ago Reince Priebus Chair of the national GOP tweets:

From our own party leadership?  Crickets.

    Nothing. Nada.

Below the fold are screen shots of the only Michigan political social media efforts on twitter.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Tonight Senator Ted Cruz is my Senator.

He is America's Senator.  A Hero.

If you have not had the chance yet, get over to one of the streaming sites and watch a great debate. While technically not a filibuster until it delays the vote for cloture which would happen tomorrow. Cloture would cut off the amendment process and the only amendment made would be the stripping of the defunding mechanism in the continuing resolution to fund the government.

Watch, tweet, email, call, get your friends watching and learning.

Michigan's Republican Congressional Representatives should be paying attention already.

No funding of Obamacare is acceptable.

    Period.

Under no circumstances was this EVER a good idea.

Let the president decide if he wants HIS paycheck or Obamacare.  It matters little if the corrupt administration is left holding a budget that doesn't allow his crowning pile of steamy achievement.

Bentivolio Letter Hints At Congressional Trick.

Representative Kerry Bentivolio smelled a rat I believe.

He write in an email blast last evening:

"You can expect major legislation to be voted on this week.

First, the continuing spending resolution, or "CR."

I have flatly stated that I will oppose this resolution if it will fund ObamaCare. And I will take the greatest care to identify any provision that might indirectly do so. "yup

Its not far from what is really going on.
Apparently, there is a procedural move which has been used before to fool the noobs in the political arena, and provide cover for the enablers otherwise; Fund, Defund, and pretend. From Brieitbart:"The source added that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is "shopping an idea of passing defund through the House with the CR, but with a mechanism that would allow it to be decoupled in the Senate, defeated, and then the base CR be passed without coming back to the House."
    Huh.

Whats up with THAT, Michigan Republican congress critters?

We have NINE potential statesmen, but will be lucky if we pull out TWO in the end.

Michigan Congressmen need to pay attention.  Its all over for Republicans if Obamacare is allowed to continue.  Understand this. The two senators in these videos are worthy of emulation.

Miller Votes To Stop IRS Obamacare Relationship

In a strangely recurring theme, another Michigan Representative performs a heroic feat of non-consequence.

From yet another electioneering press release:

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following comments regarding the U.S. House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 2009, Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013.  H.R. 2009 would bar the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from implementing or enforcing any component of President Obama's health care law.  Miller said:

"Over the past several months, I have heard from many of my constituents who are very concerned that soon they will have to turn over much of their most private health care information to the IRS as a result of ObamaCare.  I believe that concern is justified.

"The American people have been jolted by recent revelations of wrong doing within the IRS, which has diminished their faith and confidence in this powerful federal agency.  The IRS has admitted that they had singled out specific groups for extra scrutiny simply because of the political beliefs held by those groups.  Since these revelations came to light, two senior IRS officials have hidden behind the protections of the 5th Amendment to shield from American taxpayers, who pay their salaries, the facts about their wrongdoing.  Giving this discredited government agency even more authority to enact various provisions of the ObamaCare law, and giving the IRS more power over our daily lives by putting them at the center of some of the most personal and private decisions made by American families, is simply unacceptable.

"The American people do not have the necessary faith needed in the IRS to ensure the agency fairly and prudently enforces this massive takeover of our health care system and be entrusted with unprecedented access to people's most personal information.  I believe that the IRS through its own actions has made clear that it cannot be trusted with this new role.  That is why I cosponsored a simple, two-page bill, H.R. 2900 - The Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act.  This bill takes away the authority of the Secretary of Treasury to enforce any aspect of ObamaCare.

"Instead of giving the IRS more power and authority over the American people, this bill takes that power away.  I am pleased to say that I voted in favor of this important legislation and that it passed the House.  Now it is time for the Senate to act and protect the privacy of every American's private health care information."

    Again, I must ask

    Will the president sign this?

    No he won't.

Seriously, just defund all those agencies and mandates.

    Job done.

    Right? Right?

Walberg Votes To Reduce Power Of Bureaucrats

OK, but will the US Senate pass, and then see it through for Obama's signature?

    Via his official press release.

Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 367, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, to reform our nation's regulatory system. The REINS Act requires any rule or regulation with an economic impact of $100 million or more and identified by the White House's Office of Management and Budget as a `major regulation' to come before Congress for an up-or-down vote and signed by the President before taking effect.

"Last year, more than 50 regulations were implemented with an annual economic cost of more than $100 million each. The REINS Act allows Congress - not Washington bureaucrats - to determine if new major regulations that threaten job creation will go into effect and in doing so, protect jobs for hardworking taxpayers," commented Rep Walberg following the vote.

    Will the president sign this?

    No he won't.

Quit wasting yours' and our time Tim.  Instead, Defund all those agencies and mandates that have more than that $100,000,000 impact.

    Job done.

    Right?
