The RNC is going to take advantage of the short window where media is actually questioning 'Dear Leader.'
Starting today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is launching robocalls and targeted Facebook posts urging Americans to call their representatives and ask why they supported President Obama's lie that people could keep their healthcare plans under ObamaCare. The RNC is targeting eleven Democrats who support ObamaCare, including nine U.S. Senators who voted in 2010 to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. The effort includes Senators Mark Warner (VA), Mark Begich (AK), Dick Durbin (IL), Kay Hagan (NC), Mary Landrieu (LA), Jeff Merkley (OR), Mark Pryor (AR), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Mark Udall (CO), as well as Representatives Bruce Braley (IA) and Gary Peters (MI). Peters' targeted call script?: "I'm calling from the RNC. President Obama and the Democrats said you could keep your healthcare plan under ObamaCare. Now we know REPRESENTATIVE PETERS actually made that same promise. Call REPRESENTATIVE PETERS at (313) 964-9960 and ask why he lied. This call was paid for by the RNC (866) 279-8125.Its a good point. Call those who voted for it in the first place and ask why THEY lied as well as the boss liar. Make them explain how they could not have known, unless of course they were not reading the bill, in which case they should resign right away as inept negligent, and incapable of service as a US representative or senator.. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus says "We now know the President's repeated promise that Americans could keep their insurance plans if they liked them was a blatant lie. In 2010 President Obama and the Democrats were warned about this very issue and deliberately chose to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. Americans should call their representatives and ask why they supported the ObamaCare lie."Indeed. Though not a fan of Robocalls personally, I agree that the RNC needs to capitalize on the southward jet-stream momentum of the liar in chief.

I want Dave Camp to enter the US Senate race.
And there is no question about it. The MIGOP critters want Dave Camp to enter the US Senate race. In fact they are even 'beastly' about it: "Camp is now seriously considering jumping into the race at the behest of power-brokers back home, according to sources familiar with the congressman's thinking. A small but influential group of Michigan GOP leaders has cranked up the heat on Camp, making the case that he could appeal to independents statewide and win the seat. Camp, they say, has been increasingly receptive to their appeals.By golly we agree.
Yes, I want Dave Camp to run for US Senate. Continued below the fold. ~ (1 comment, 721 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Its me .. Dave, .. I got the stuff ..
"The stuff", being empty discourse and meaningless indignation at the IRS targeting the tea party. From behind the door, the five term congressman and chair of the Ways and Means committee is trying to get in. He should know the door remains closed, and any voter with a remaining functional synapse will be ignoring the pounding for attention. Camp's office responded to an Examiner article that described continuing IRS abuse of power with "Congress may be out of session but we're continuing to keep the heat on the Internal Revenue Service. I wanted to make sure you saw the Washington Examiner article below for the most recent update. It is outrageous that IRS management continues to target Tea Party cases without any justification. "Ahem. .. IT'S OUTRAGEOUS! Yeah get the ol tea folk worked up so you can abandon them again. Go to another dozen 912, Tea, patriot type meetings and tell them some more stories of how you will solve the current set of problems, and if necessary DEFUND the departments causing them: " You didn't challenge the health care bill's constitutionality in 2010 when it was being debated did you Dave Camp? How about you Fred Upton? No. I guess not. And even after PLEDGING to affirm constitutionality for each bill passed in the house, it only took 7 months to lose that pledge in the bottom of the briefcase. Not forgetting those promises Dave. In a strangely recurring theme, another Michigan Representative performs a heroic feat of non-consequence.
From yet another electioneering press release: WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following comments regarding the U.S. House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 2009, Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013. H.R. 2009 would bar the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from implementing or enforcing any component of President Obama's health care law. Miller said:Again, I must ask Will the president sign this? No he won't. Seriously, just defund all those agencies and mandates. Job done. Right? Right? By JGillman, Section News
Once upon a time we had a wall of shame.
We placed the names of those who supposedly stand for responsible government, and would have presumably known their power, upon these pages. We pointed out how they buckled to the deceiver in the white house, and perpetuated the burden on our children ad finitum. The faces and names have only been slightly changed, but here we go again, seeing the inability to recognize where the lines must be drawn. It was Congressman Dan Benishek, Congressman Bill Huizenga, Congressman Dave Camp, Congressman Fred Upton, Congressman Tim Walberg, Congressman Mike Rogers, Congresswoman Candice Miller, and the notorious Congressman Thaddeus McCotter who allowed the debt ceiling to increase. No line in the sand was drawn, no ultimatum, just a stupid deal that we have understood for the last several months to be a "fiscal cliff" of automatic cuts, punishments, reductions, tax increases, etc. The obvious toilet bowl baby of massive proportion, baked up by the usual suspects. And rubber stamped on the foreheads of the dummies who call themselves Republican from the list above. Redemption requires a real change of heart.
Amash played it right the first time. He understood that the Marxists in the other chamber, and specifically the thug holding the executive office could not be trusted without limits being placed on them. The debt, the spending, the taxation, and all the graft accompanying this most recent development changed nothing, but in fact buys the urn in which the ashes of our constitution will reside. The good representative needs no remorse, for he has served his office well. Justim Amash, Tim Walberg, and Bill Huizinga, were alone out of our Michigan contingent to vote against being steam rolled. They voted against a package that raises taxes, spends MORE and does NOTHING to solve the debt or the deficit that we will likely never see an end to; at least until the collapse of our currency. Walberg and Huizinga have recognized the stakes in allowing the future of our country to be defined by the other side.
Dave Camp, Fred Upton, Candace Miller, and Dan Benishek? Just plain pathetic, weak, and merely useless. Perhaps deserving of another spot on the wall. Update [2013-1-2 6:42:10 by JGillman]: And how this one slipped I don't know. Mike Rogers as well. (Thanks C1) (44 comments) Comments >> By JGillman, Section News
But no worries. The troops are getting armed with counter propaganda.
The fact that the MiGOP leadership is in full blown damage control was evident from the 15 minute visit by a credential's committee member on Monday. To allow the argument that the post election rules change was not really a change, the video stood alone and unchallenged by our pens in the presentation. Of course what happens behind the scenes, and in other commentary is another matter entirely. Grand Traverse County was not the only place to get the visit, and the point was to get out the counter message to the story we have been telling here. And it is working for some. Honest, politically active women who were present for the explanation presented here took it to heart that no change was made. And the damage control measures are working to some extent. One particular event which demonstrated this was the visit by CD1 Dan Benishek, who came to Traverse City to officially announce his reelection, and introduce himself to the new section of the district that was expanded by the reapportionment. During a question and answer, Dr. Dan was asked by one woman: "How do you expect us to support you during reelection with all the backhanded dealings in the Michigan Republican leadership?" (paraphrased slightly) The question stumped the esteemed congressman, who went silent and staring for a period until rescued by two of those politically active advocates, who essentially said that Sharon explained it all so its not really that way. And then the Q&A was over. A job well done ladies. More below ~ (3 comments, 777 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Mr Camp.
The groveling for permission from their federal masters continues as the Ways and Means chair says "pretty please" to one of Obama's cronies. From THE HILL: Reps. Dave Camp and Fred Upton endorsed Michigan's request Thursday in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Michigan asked HHS last week to phase in new requirements that govern how insurers can spend their money. Remember a few days ago? You know, when you and 200+ other Repbublicans had a royal flush backed up with cards up the sleeves, and a gun under the table? You DO REMEMBER, right? You know, a couple days before you folded to a pair of Jacks, held by a guy with a blinky eye "tell", and an audience of investors who were counting on the congress to FINALLY HOLD THE LINE. Right? A few days before the market hit the skids in the worst way in two years. And then the guy holding the jacks? He spent $240 Billion of his "winnings" in one day. Oh yeah, that's right you guys have a memory problem. ~ More Below ~ (2 comments, 490 words in story) Full Story By JGillman, Section News
Its pretty hard to stay away from the national issues sometimes.
There is the inability of our leadership to just say "forget about it" when their opponents suggest lifting caps, and spending more of our children's soon to be taxed heavily again inheritances. There is a weakness when it comes to doing the right thing like throwing out a few babies with bathwater. There is a real lack of courage coming from our Republicans IMO. But I am not yet giving up. Sure, I would like to see the cap held. No more! Stop! Cease! But in the spirit of "compromise" the house gave a little. In fact, the bill sent through would have still allowed a minimum of $2.5 trillion increase in the debt, adding both principle and of course the expected financing measures. And the senate said nah, not good enough. So frankly, to heck with them. Its time that Michigan's congressional delegation simply takes a stand. One that is solidly for NO increase in the debt. None. Nada. More below ~ (5 comments, 753 words in story) Full Story
