As we reach yet another debt ceiling, Gary Peters writes the "turn around" specialist-in-chief...

Rep. Gary Peters wrote President Barack Obama on Friday, calling on him to create a Detroit Interagency Task Force to help the Motor City rebound from its record-setting bankruptcy filing.

Peters, D[ouche]-Bloomfield Township, said a federal task force could help the city better use its federal funds.

"In Detroit's current fiscal crisis, we can foster an unprecedented collaboration between federal government oversight, private sector enterprise, and local civic leaders in order to find innovative ways to target both governmental and philanthropic resources in a transparent and data-driven manner," Peters wrote.

    Rest of the buffoonery here

If this is Lon Johnson's frilliant idea for publicity, he just turned off the rest of the state.

Time to pull back the curtain. (none / 0) (#1)

And read about what the false prophet, Pres B.O., his name be praised, had to say on the possibility of this?

"As strongly supportive as they were, (presidential adviser Gene Sperling) was very clear they could not be talking in terms of a bailout," Rapson said in an interview Monday. "They made it very clear that was not in the cards, technically or politically."

On an interesting sidenote, the freep did an in-depth report on the causes of the bankruptcy.

Nothing really new to us locals with good memories.

But, in a dig at Rush, the fish paper threw out the tired "It wasn't Coleman Young's fault" line.

Curiously, they conveniently ignored reporting on what any city leaders had done to stem the exodus from Detroit.

Apparently using the tired progressive/democratic tactic of simply raising taxes (again and again and again) along with ignoring rising budgets wasn't the magic cure-all that they had all hoped it would be.

    Wow!

    Whodathunkit?
