State lawmakers are considering a provision of President Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that would expand Medicaid to single, childless adults up to 133% of the poverty level. Doing so would add around half a million additional people to the Medicaid rolls at a cost to Michigan taxpayers of $1.3 billion.
