The Stupidity of Kathleen SebeliusBy pauldpeterson, Section News
It may seem like old news, but let's begin by asking one question. How did your mother teach you to sneeze? Cup your hand over your mouth and nose (with a tissue, if possible) and sneeze into it. As any three year old might ask... why? I'm sure she said it's because you want to keep your germs to yourself and not make someone else sick by spreading germs around the house or in public. It's because something may come spraying out of your nose also. Sneezes are unpredictable in these ways, and a cupped hand is really the best way to contain them in a pinch. "Eww!", you might say. All that in my hand? But hands are very durable things, and the dirty little secret is, you can wash them. This technique has lasted for centuries, passed down by oral tradition one undiseased generation to the next.
The Anatomy of a Sneeze is some 40,000 droplets of germ-laden spittle and mucous travelling at 100 mph a distance of some 32 ft., sometimes repetatively. (Ooooo, how scarey!) Containing this little sickness-bomb is exactly why a proper technique must be used to protect the health of others. But manner and etiquette has always been handled by parents to children. Then, suddenly, upon the election of Barak Hussein Obama, and the appointment of uber-Progressive Kathleen Sebelius, all of this changed as if it had always been this way. Between charts in school and public service announcements (propaganda) by no less than Elmo of Sesame Street, the public was instructed to sneeze into the crook of their arms, essentially on their sleeves. Didn't our mothers teach us NOT to wipe our noses on our sleeves?
The enforcement of this policy has been for Kathleen Sebelius to humiliate a Washington Press Corps journalist on national television, intimidate children in schools, and to threaten workers in hospitals (and other public sector occupations) with being fired from their jobs if caught sneezing otherwise. The tyranny of sneezing had begun, akin to the heavy hand of an armed government willing to put the firing squad (public humiliation) to its own citizens. But why all the fuss? Why the strong-armcrook on such a thing as sneezing? Where does this come from? It comes from Professor John Oxford of Queen Mary Medical School in London. Upon this man's claim that his way was better, despite any proof, Progressives decided to adopt and force their way on everyone else, using the government to do so. Why? The fact that it is NOT the government's role to teach me or you how to sneeze, using strong measures of enforcement, is radically beyond the point of being a civil rights violation of self-management; it is simply NOT true that arm-sneezing is in any way better. This is due to the Coanda Effect.
The Coanda Effect is what makes air travel possible. It is what causes air to flow over an aerfoil in such a way as to cause lift. This effect states that a jet of air or fluid will be drawn toward a nearby surface, thereby redirecting the direction of the airflow. In the case of a rounded surface, it will follow it around on both sides, jetting out on the other side. This is how an aerofoil works. An experiment you can even do at home is to put a can in front of a lit candle, blow on the can and put the candle out, if the airstream is strong enough; and if it isn't, at the very least, the stream of air will widen around the rounded surface and continue on. Gee, isn't an arm a rounded surface? Then aren't you really SPREADING germs, rather than containing them? The fact that the H1N1 epidemic after the election of Barak Hussein Obama and the appointment of Kathleen Sebelius should be proof enough to answer "yes", but also schools closing during the 2009-10 winter due to majority of students being ill with the flu add to the facts that they apparently WANT people to fall ill, or maybe they're just stupid. The fact that Kathleen Sebelius is apparently unaware of this most basic of aero-principles speaks volumes. I've also heard the counter-argument that a sleeved arm will contain better yet because the fabric will catch the germ-droplets more readily. (Nevermind that it doesn't contain an explosive sneeze 100%, and will deposit snot-slugs on your clothes too.) OK, let's go there. In food service, they will certify you in ServSafe practices that any slightly obsessive-compulsive person holds as common sense: Germ transference awareness must drive almost everything you do in handling food. Therefore, if you're sick, shouldn't the same hold true? Washing your hands after sneezing properly (according to your mother) will alleviate any germ transference. But if you sneeze into your sleeve at your elbow, there it takes residence on your clothing, perhaps your coat, a suit, blouse, or button-down shirt. How often do you wash your coat? Your suit? How many times are you going to sneeze into the same place in a day if you're under the weather adding to the germ concentration? Then there's an age-old wisdom that must be applied: Ever heard the term, "rubbing elbows with the public"? That's absolutely true if you think about it. What point on the body is the widest? The shoulders? The stance at the feet? Isn't it the elbows? (The answer, actually, is yes.) Therefore, when you go out in public, you do, in fact, rub elbows with them, literally, if in a crowd outside, a crowded elevator, etc. That is, if you're going to bump into or rub up against others, it will be at the elbows. Now, let's think this through... If you rub elbows with the public, you and they exchange millions of these particulate germs you've both been sneezing on your sleeves all day. (How many people will you bump into in a day?) Then, you continue to raise that same spot up to your face to sneeze into again and again... Really? How much germ transference is goin' on there...with YOUR FACE? Oh, I'm sure Kathleen Sebelius would tell you not to worry about it as she ridicules you in public on national television. So, why is society following an unfounded claim made by an Englishman and adopted by our government? In life, you have to think for yourself! Didn't we fight a war so we wouldn't have to follow what the English told us to do? More importantly, why is the GOVERNMENT pushing this so strongly? Do they WANT people to spread germs in the name of containing them? The paradox sounds so familiar from this bunch. If they'll do this with sneezing, what other, arguably more important, issues will they do this with? Well, during the first 3 years into the Obama administration, we're seeing more of this same sentiment, again, from the office of Kathleen Sebelius. She and Rahm Emmanuel (who is now the Mayor of Chicago, where Barak Hussein Obama came from) were instrumental in the strong-arm passage of the uber-utilitarian-death-panel-laden Obamacare, including stories of naked, shower-room intimidation in the U.S. Capitol BathHouse. They broke Congressional Rules in passing an unconstitutional law against the obvious will of the public. Notice this happened after the new sneezing etiquette was forced on us. And if they want you sick (from above paragraph's conclusion), doesn't it follow that it gives them more control over you if they also control healthcare, thereby controlling you in your own body? Ever wonder if some of these flu scares are intentionally planted? Ever wonder why the government wants in your veins so badly every year now for reasons of flu, H1N1, and other childhood diseases that are supposedly coming back only after this administration took over? Aren't they manufacturing obsessive-compulsive disorders and hypochondriacs through their fear-mongering? A year later (today), Kathleen Sebelius is, quite stupidly, forcing church organizations to provide practices, like contraception, abortive contraception, and abortion under the guise of women's health, while a majority of the public today are against abortion. You'd think that once his constituency was up in arms against him in an election year, he'd fire the stupidczar Kathleen Sebelius. But no, Barak Hussein Obama supported her in this and told the churches they have one year to get their act together. Kinda makes you think that they don't have to stand re-election, doesn't it? If life and death issues are not important enough to do what's right, I wonder what's next! Stop this propagandizing of America, especially the children! Do not let another generation grow up thinking incorrectly about their reality on all fronts, not just sneezing, pushing society as a whole closer and closer to government top-down control, especially if they ever decided to intentionally spread a virus. In that case, we'd fall right into a spreading disease trap, wouldn't we? (I'm just sayin'!) If you don't think they're doing this intentionally, and on every issue at every level, than they are, indeed, stupid. If not, however, this makes them very, very EVIL, and enemies of the Constitution, and therefore, the true domestic enemies of the State. Problem is: THEY RUN THE STATE. Question is: Has there been a Marxist Coup perpetrated against us or just a Comedy of Errors by the Stupid and Inept. You decide in 2012. And remember, Progressives always make things so complicated and convoluted so as to not be able to recognize where it all stems from. James Madison warned us in the Federalist Papers... "The House of Representatives can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together. It creates between them that communion of interests and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished examples; but without which every government degenerates into tyranny. If this spirit shall ever be so far debased as to tolerate a law not obligatory on the legislature, as well as on the people, the people will be prepared to tolerate any thing but liberty." - James Madison, Federalist #57 At what point in our history did we get away from this? Does anyone even know?
