It's no secret there is money in politics, it takes money to run for office

However looking at campaign contributions can be enlightening, especially when you compare those contributions to votes

For instance, I took a look at the campaign contributions of Senator Jim Marleau who introduced the MI Health Care Exchange (Obama Care) bill (killed in Committee BIG SHOUT OUT to all you went to Committee meetings, e-mailed and called :)

I looked up a couple of these contributors and their agendas and found...

Another Marleau bill---->(SB 723) Creates the Peace of Mind Registry for advance directive for health care. Status: Senate Floor MHA POSITION: SUPPORT
This Bill SB 723 moves organ donor program solely from Secretary of State (SOS) to the Department of Community Health (DCH) with creation of a new electronic data gathering program. This bill is another step towards enabling of ObamaCare via the electronic data access and transmission of medical "directives" in the proposed MI Health Care Exchange

Health Insurance

A bill to provide that no person be required to obtain or maintain health insurance coverage.(Obama Care) ---->(HB 4050) Would prohibit mandate to obtain individual health insurance coverage. Status: House Health Policy MHA POSITION: OPPOSE

And lets toss in gun control!

Concealed Weapons

(SB 58/HB 4009) Eliminates list of specified premises on which a person licensed to carry a concealed weapon may not carry. Status: Senate Judiciary Committee MHA POSITION: OPPOSE

Oh and toss in $1,000 from the "Turnaround PAC"(under "Ideology/Single Issue") the Turnaround PAC is from the "Michigan Turnaround Plan" organization of Democrat and moderate Republicans who endorsed Rick Snyder for Governor and also endorse the NITC/DRIC bridge and "revenue neutral" economics which is just another name for robbing Peter to pay Paul as opposed to actually limiting government and therefore limiting the revenue or taxes(your money) needed to run it.

Another curiosity is that although Sen. Marleau introduced the bill SB 693, he never mentioned his "accomplishment" to his constituents in his year-end review Newsletter send on their dime. Link Here

And of course you can't leave out the fact that the Governor who is from Marleau's Party wanted and still wants the Health Care Exchange and said so in his recent State of the State address

"In addition, Snyder renewed his call for legislative approval of the MiHealth Marketplace program,..."

But never fear Senator Marleau even though the next MI Senate elections are not until 2014 we won't forget your votes, or your campaign contributions and who knows even though you were re-districted favorably someone might just decide to move. Can you say Primary?!
