      Oh, joy... this will be a big 'ol ball of fun with tracking donation origins to campaign committees.

      As the Fiat and Chrysler automakers go global, so do their unions.

      Fiat and Chrysler unions worldwide this week agreed to join in a global network aimed at a constant flow of information and defining a common strategy.

      "The network is a signal to Fiat that the unions are united," Enzo Masini, auto coordinator at the FIOM union, said in a statement. "A global company requires a global union."

      Their first common act will be a letter to Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne asking for recognition.

      Bob King, you better dust them prized knee pads of yours off.  Socialist Italy just declared you their new fluffer.

      UAW membership has plunged dramatically since it's heyday in the early '70s. Even adding dramatically via membership in locals like 6000 which are the state government "workers", it is hurting. That makes it very difficult to funnel the dues money to keep fellow marxists in power in government (see Akbar Hussein Maobama in 2008 and 2012 redux). As an aside, since pale boy Rick hasn't got the gonads to really engage the government "workers", we'll get to keep on contributing to the marxist organizations via our....er, um union dues dollars.

      This move by the People's U of M educated Bob King is really no surprise. A marriage of world wide unions should be easy to accomplish. If anything, the unions around the world are even more pink than the UAW leadership and in King's case, that's going some. It will be very interesting to see if Maobama has the pull to get Marchionne to go along with the scheme. A worldwide strike against the auto industry or targeted strikes against overseas supplier could make it more difficult for the domestic automakers at contract time.

      The NLRB will, of course, be smoothing the way.
