Kurt Meister: Economic and Freedom Jihadist with a Law DegreeBy Corinthian Scales, Section News
Well, today's JOA News started my day off just swell. Yannow, it wasn't but 14 months ago I decided to bail from the Apocalyto of Wayne Countys' Dearbornistan and ride out the rest of my sunrises in beautiful Northern Michigan enjoying all the rugged Americana pleasures that a sparsely populated northern lifestyle openly offers. Yah, I admit it, the attraction of the "lifestyle" in my newly adopted beautiful Alcona County lake home reminds me of a slower paced, less intrusive time growing up on a farm in a friendly, once small town Green Oak Township. Today, I can still enjoy those freer times memories of boating, plinking with the .22 at soda cans, drowning some worms in the summer and hoppin' on a sled with some neighbor folk and eventually ending up around the fire-pit throwing back some adult libations in the winter over here at what is CS Central. It's the "lifestyle" and within that is an economy. That's what makes where I'm at my true slice of heaven. Think about it, I live where most go to vacation. That is what makes it not anything "down state".
At almost 1 million acres, the Huron-Manistee National Forests in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula would seem to have enough room for everyone to play to their hearts' content. Thus enters Kurt Meister...
..., Esquire.
One Novi man's legal protest could result in 67,770 acres -- roughly 6.5 percent of the total forest land -- off-limits to those activities believed to interfere with quieter endeavors such as bird-watching, hiking and cross-country skiing. Here we go again. Yet another cottaging down state flatland Euell Gibbon's wannabe pops up to inflict his delusional will upon restricting what many in Northern Michigan not only enjoy, but depend on to exist to put food on the table year round. And, let me make no mistake about Kurt Meister, Esq. being a truly delusional case.
But beyond the technical issues raised by Meister was a simple question: If some recreation activities detract from others, does the forest service need to set aside land for restricted uses? Free from human disturbances? Acceptable activities? WTF?!?! Change the whole economic dynamics of residents in the area, for a misanthropically challenged, part-time, cheap-ass minority of hiking birdwatchers? Yah, riiiiiiiiiiiight. And, didja notice that Kurt, Esq. ignores the fact the he can freely sit peeping through binoculars without "human disturbances" in the remaining 910,955 acres of Huron-Manistee National Forests? Yessiree, that just seems not enough for a down stater that wants to turn National Forests into their backyard for their cottage. Honestly, I've read enough about this technicality sniping whack-job and I've sure as hell have had enough of that type f#@%ing up life for others in how they choose to legally live it. Okay, here's where the tables turn. And I hope more Northerners that care about their "lifestyle" jump on the bandwagon of examining who these invasive assclowns really are. Let's reeeeally look at exactly who is this Kurt "Euell Gibbon's wannabe" Meister. Okay, yep, a mouthpiece since '82 that can be found here in Novi... yada, yada, yada... Hmmmmm. Now, this is interesting. When one goes through the City of Novi tax rolls, one can't find any such Meister at 22581 Moorgate St Novi, MI 48374 listed. Perhaps that should be investigated further? Anyway, there are two listings for a Meister. One has to be excluded because we know that 'ol Euell Gibbon's wannabe is a Kurt J. So, going with the assumption that gummint must always be right, that leaves the City of Novi pointing to this. Interesting. If true, that would mean that "Mr. Free from human disturbances" lawyer dude lives in one of those organized attached condo ghettos that cropped up on farmland back in the 70's. Now that'd be ironic wouldn't it. The ooooold sanctimoniously hypocritical, "What's good for me, is not for thee."... at their second dwelling. Typical of so many Generation Jones aged folk these days. Besides, like it or not, our new Governor Snyder has pledged a whole new boatload of our coin on promoting such things as snowmobiling and hunting in my beautiful sunrise part of the state.
And, like it or not, I recognize the economic impact felt by my new community when it snows, and when opening day rolls around. I don't depend on it to put food on the table but many of my new friends do to make through the seasons when the down state "fudgies" stay home. Like I opened my little rant... it is a Northern lifestyle.
