"Big Brother" Ruth Johnson Removes Damaging Information from Government Website

Republican Delegates from around Michigan have begun doing their research on candidates to be voted on at the state convention next week, but it's challenging to do the research when someone like Secretary of State candidate Ruth Johnson is removing information from the Internet in an attempt to hide her record.

According to Google.com, the press release announcing, "Johnson Joins Push for "No-Reason" Absentee Voting," was removed from the Oakland County Clerk's website sometime after August, 10, 2010.  While users are currently unable to find the document on the official website, Google has saved a copy of the press release on their servers accessible by this link:

    Google cached result

A simple Google search on "ruth johnson absentee voting press release" will bring up a link to the no longer existing press release.  Upon clicking on that link users will find that the page no longer exists at the Oakland County Clerk website.  If users click on the "Cached" link that follows the search result, however, users will be brought to a copy of the press release referenced above.  A pdf of the press release is also attached.

Delegates should ask Ruth why she asked her government employees to take the press release off of the government website mere days before the Republican State Convention.  Were any other press releases removed from the website?  What else is she hiding?

The issue of liberalizing absentee voter laws is so critical because of the edge it gives Democrats.  Republicans ought to encourage a system of voting that encourages voters to show up at the voting booth on Election Day where election inspectors can do their jobs and observe the voting process.  It is a much more difficult task for groups like ACORN to meddle with the vote when election inspectors are present and can report incidents of fraud.  Ruth Johnson's support of No Reason Absentee Voting would result in more people voting away from the voting booth and away from election inspectors.

A quick search of absentee voter fraud around the country underscores the need to fight the liberalization of our absentee voter laws.

It should be extremely distressing for delegates to see Ruth Johnson standing literally shoulder to shoulder with two of Michigan's most liberal State Senators, Gilda Jacobs and Liz Brater, on this issue of No Reason Absentee Voting.  It's pretty clear why Ruth Johnson is trying to hide these facts from voters, yet this type of deception is the last thing we deserve from someone wanting our vote.  Ruth Johnson is on the wrong side of this vital elections issue, she knows it, and that's why she is trying to cover up the evidence.

One would think that (none / 0) (#1)

'THEY' would be interested in the importance of future elections over the next several years and not want (yet) another example of shady behavior to be attributed to 'THEIR' side of the isle.

I've been wrong in this sensible thinking before :/

    Thx for the post!
