      While all of this government theft of our liberties is happening, Dave Camp (R - 4th District) has shown he isn't ignoring what is happening back home in Michigan.  Camp's office reports the passage of H. Res. 1199, naming March 20, 2010, (today) as "National American Meat and Poultry Appreciation Day."

      As most of you might know, Jennifer Granholm, Michigan's executive wrecking ball recently declared the 20th 2010 as "meat-out day" snubbing the agriculture community in Michigan and elsewhere by posturing her far left ideology.

      The text of the resolution below the fold:

      Camp's resolution:

          1) Designates March 20, 2010, as "National American Meat and Poultry Appreciation Day;"
          2) Honors and recognizes the contributions made by the farmers, ranchers, processors, packers, and other meat and poultry industry employees;
          3) Encourages the people of the United States to observe and partake in "National American Meat and Poultry Appreciation Day" to promote awareness of the contributions of the industry, the nutritious value of its products, and the strict food safety standards to which it adheres

      On Camp's website he explains:

      "The governor's proclamation encouraged people to not eat meat, implying that it was not healthy despite evidence to the contrary. In fact, the federal Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Health and Human Services encourage meat consumption as part of a healthy diet in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The Michigan Senate voted Wednesday to encourage Granholm to rescind her resolution.
      "No one can dispute the fact that agriculture, including the meat and poultry industry, has buoyed the Michigan economy through an extremely difficult period. Nearly 136,000 Michigan farm families get their livelihood from the meat and poultry industry that represents nearly $15 billion for the Michigan economy, and nearly six percent of the nation's domestic product," Camp said."

      Michigan Co-Sponsors of the bill included Michigan Reps. Pete Hoekstra, Mike Rogers, Fred Upton, Vern Ehlers, Candice Miller, and Thad McCotter

      Today I had two Sausage egg McMuffin's with cheese with two hash browns for breakfast, for lunch it was a Little Cesears Meat Lovers trio and lastly I had a Wendy's triple for supper with a large order of fries with plenty of salt. Oh yes and a nice big gallon size Pepsi. Hows that for civil disobediance?
      I think our busy body governor would do well to concentrate on the mess she has made of this states economy and pull her large nose out of my eating habits. It is NONE of her or any other statist libtards buiness what I eat or how much. Government needs to learn what it's Constitution limits and responsibilites are and learn to operate with in those limits.

      That the left has nothing but statist mental light weights in their ranks. Ever wonder why there are so many unintended consequences as a result of when these people attempt to think. They should leave thinking to those better qualified for the function. They are not so equipped.
