Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Pay Attention VERY Closely.

    This is ONE chance.

We changed the State House last night.  We have a super majority in the Senate.  With this combination, COURAGEOUS measures can be done.

I realize Snyder has not made it HIS agenda priority, but to really affect how business is done in the state of Michigan, and whether-or-not it is, we need to start pushing back on the stranglehold big labor has had here.  Labor, which has been chasing out our manufacturing sector, and managing to embed itself like ticks in the skin of our state government has to find a natural predator NOW, or it might be impossible the next go round.  Labor is costing us jobs because it is so inflexible.

More jobs is a good thing right?

There is a win win for Michigan.  If I am not mistaken, Snyder has indicated he would likely sign it if it came before him. IT.. being right to work legislation that needs to be on the table.

    And right away.

Ask those prospective leaders in both the House and Senate: "Do you support Right To work legislation, and will you send it to the governor to sign?"

There is no excuse NOT to have it there.

    Snyder (none / 0) (#1)

Rick Snyder is a two-headed coin.  As Yahoo news pointed out in an article a week or so ago, not all moderate Republicans are dead...and their example was Snyder.

Snyder is an important business leader and as such he might very well know what government has to do to allow private enterprise to thrive and for an economy to create jobs.  However, he is one of those big government moderates that believes that government has a central role to play in manipulating an economy to desired social and environmental outcomes.  True conservatives, regardless of the slick packaging, should reject this premise as part of their core beliefs without hesitation.

If Republicans had proven to be generically trustworthy I wouldn't have had to become a part of the tea party movement; a movement more in response to establishment Republicans supporting statist career politicians than it has anything to do with Democrats.  Seriously, who among us conservatives doesn't expect democrats to nominate a stable of bonehead candidates?  But from the GOP we expect better.

We expect the GOP to stand on the foundation of smaller government, to stand in support of private enterprise and capitalism, and to promote an environment where individuals are allowed to operate freely without fear of the collective.

I pray that Mr. Snyder is more than the generic Republican product that the party has been content to saddle us with.  I plan to watch him like a hawk.

up your reps right now!  Don't stop until there is legislation sitting right under Snyder's nose to sign.

I saw something yesterday that is so true for Michigan.  There was some legislation that didn't make the ballot but it was a bill to change a state seal to depicting a tape worm sucking the life out of the state.  That is Michigan.  Unions sucking every last penny out of every last damn living human being in Michigan.  We must stop it.  Start with never voting yes on a millage again.

Now if only the House and Senate Republicans can keep their focus on improving the business climate -- and not get caught up in passing laws to prove just how much they hate gays and tilting at the Roe v. Wade windmills -- then maybe we can make some progress.

Snyder makes me optimistic because he doesn't go for the religious right's '50s throwback social agenda, but a lot of the legislature does, and that has serious potential to distract us from the economic work that needs to be done.
