Aesop's Fable

Former community organizer, Democrat Jocelyn Benson is running for Michigan Secretary of State. And, as the old adage reminds us "you are known by the company you keep" we can tell a lot about Mrs. Benson by her endorsements:

The Secretary Of State Project. In case you are not familiar with the SoS project check out their 'about page.'

The Michigan SEIU. (An extra big tip O' the hat to the BlogProf)

Michigan Representative Democrat Rashida Tlaib who is active in the Progressive States Network.

Howard Dean's Democracy for America organization... They think the current Democrat party is not progressive enough.

And a whole host of Michigan Democrats. The same Democrats who have lead our state to a 14% unemployment rate.

Mrs. Benson will cite the boiler plate talking points about "fair elections." She even talks about "transparency" like another former community organizer has in the past. Remember the whole C-Span discussion.

To be honest, I can can care less about how long I stand in line for my Driver Licence and my overpriced stickers for my plates. The most important responsibility of Michigan's Secretary of State has is guaranteeing fair elections in our state.

Do we want a progressive former community organizer endorsed by the SEIU, Democracy for America and the progressive SoS Project certifying a close (or any) election in 2012?

If you want to have confidence in Michigan's electoral process, be sure to vote for Republican Ruth Johnson

I know many people who are talking about staying home because of the governor's race. That's not a option. I tell them that we need them, downticket.

Ruth Johnson, Robert Young, and Mary Beth Kelly. Those are the three most important circles (or arrows) to draw in when voting.

We need fair elections, and that is EXACTLY the reason why Jocelyn Benson must lose.
