(Promoted by Nick... heaven help us. Seriously. And PLEASE?)

We're goin' down! We're goin' down! We're goin' down!

Michigan's unemployment situation hasn't just crashed, it's beginning to plow into straight into bedrock.

According to the Michigan DLEG (sadly reported in the Journal and not on their own website), Michigan's unemployment rate for May jumped to 14.1%!

No word yet on when Gov. Granholm will announce her resignation for this debacle.

Not Soon Enough!  Trouble is, the fellow that gets her job if/when she resigns isn't such a brilliant person, either.

Just when you think that she has blown you away...she always manages to top herself.

At first I was thinking it was just my imagination, but over the last few 6 months there is no rush hour traffic to speak of on 696. At least not the way it was a few years ago.

    Very sad.

Mark Sanford is the darling of the conservative movement. He's Mr. "slash government spending" and "no federal stimulus dollars". How's his approach working for the SC economy?

This number doesn't factor in all of the families who have been forced from the state in search of work.  I figured it out roughly once, and it added a few points.

One benefit to a Granholm resignation would be that it would probably hurt her chances for a future in politics or cabinet appointments.  Then again, as many times as she's been mentioned and passed over, there probably isn't much worry of that anymore.

stevenstmason hasn't gotten the official answer back from his handlers at the comintern.

Its all Engler's fault, no wait, its all Bush's fault.
