While Michigan implodes, all our governor can say is `green jobs':

"We will be aggressive about fighting to keep additional plants and auto jobs, and we'll be even more aggressive in creating new, green jobs in the alternative energy economy.

This is bordering on insulting. Michigan's unemployment rate is nearly 13% and climbing and the best idea Granholm can come up with is `green jobs'?

Rather than heavily subsidize `green energy', a better response would be a "Michigan Is Open For Business" strategy.  This strategy would produce more permanent jobs, much quicker.

Cut corporate taxes. Michigan is ranked 20th in the nation for state business tax climate according to the Tax Foundation. When you lead the nation in unemployment, you can't be a high business tax state.

It's no coincidence that Toyota, VW, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, BMW are in traditionally non union states.  Push to make Michigan a right to work state. This would go a long way to make Michigan an attractive place to do business.

Try making Michigan an attractive place to raise a family. Push for School Vouchers and allow parents to determine whats best for their children in the way of education.

In terms of results, Wolf said that the D.C. program shows significant achievement gains among students, as well as extremely high parental satisfaction rates.

Parents of students in the D.C. program, Wolf said, "viewed private schools as safer, more orderly, and more disciplined" Wolf said that students who were offered vouchers demonstrated 3.7 months of additional learning in reading than their public school peers.

Parents that are extremely satisfied with their children's education would go a long way in stemming the exodus out of our state.
