Have you ever stayed up at night, couldn't fall asleep, even after watching re-runs of House/Senate Proceedings on C-Span arguing the minutiae details regarding their latest unconstitutional omnibus-{fill-in-cool-sounding-name-to-generate-publicity-in-the-next-24-hour-media-cycle}, and eventually after going through the dial for the gazillionth time just stopped on a channel where they had two (or more) people just having at it? You really don't know the players involved. Shark-Boy and Curry-Man against anybody. OBD v. Awesome Kong. Sting v. anyone. Randy Orton v. the latest person he attacked from behind to gain the win. You really don't care you wins, you just like to watch two people you really don't care about just wailing on each other. Well, that's what'll happen in the 12 District in 2010. Yep, you'll hear it, well not first, but you've still heard that perennial US Rep. Sander Levin will be taking on perennial politician Michael "Mickey" Switalski for the Mi-12 seat in 2010.
I got a hint at some of the buzz late last night. Many of the stalwart democrats are really (or soon to be) having a Maalox moment because they don't know who to throw their support, or hitch their political wagons, to in the upcoming election. Even Sandy is running scarred, he's actually running a poll to gauge his chances. Now for those of you who aren't familiar, Sen. Switalski is a fervent follower of Engles and Marx just like Levin is. He has a penchant for expanding those filthy & smelly bottle return in grocery stores. He also has no clue as to how the tax system works based upon his Senate Floor speech last week on SJR H against capping, NOT cutting, property taxes in Michigan.
No matter who wins, the 12 District still loses. But it'll still be fun to watch the two of them have at it to see who'll eventually win in August. It'll also be fun to see if the loser will get a job in the real world outside of politics (ha haha hahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahah...sorry), or be hired on by the MDP in some capacity?
