    (Promoted by Nick...)

Well, if this wasn't the worst kept secret in Michigan, Macomb County Board of Commissioners (read: democrats) are eyeing taking yet even more money from battered homeowners.

    Continued below.

Even though it has slowly spent down its "rainy day fund" every year since 2004, the Macomb County Board of Commissioners has finally decided that enough is enough and will shake down financally strapped homeowners to make up living large.

Looking at a $33 million dollar hole in 2009 (page 41), democratic county commissioners have made $14 million in cuts, cajoled $10 million in concessions from it labor unions (to say nothing about finding a rather innovative use of a pizza box), and now have their sights set on local residents to make up the difference.

Without seeking voter approval, Macomb County Commissioners are pushing for a tax hike from 4.2 mills to 4.56 mills.

Speaking in favor of a tax increase, democratic county commissioner Brian Brdak stated, "It's something we definitely have to consider. There aren't a lot of other options."

But to show that Macomb County democrats aren't totally heartless, they will be conducting a "listening tour" to ram through, er, "convince" Macomb County residents about the "need" for a tax hike.

The tour is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd, when most residents are working,um, I mean, at these convenient times and locations:

8:00am : Mount Clemens - Mt. Clemens Public Library, 150 Cass.

12 Noon : New Haven - New Haven Medical Center, 58311 Gratiot.

    5:00 p.m: Roseville - Roseville City Hall, 29777 Gratiot.

7:30 pm: Sterling Heights - Sterling Heights Public Library, 40255 Dodge Park.

I wish he'd consider some of the other options, in this economy, it could be fatal, they might actually, tax some people to death.
Raising Property Taxes, might be a good idea, if the goal is to tax everyone right out of Michigan, then sell it off to Canada.
    or
If you want to push up peoples monthly mortgage payments to the point, where they can't handle it anymore and just walk away from the house and let the bank have it back.

A good politician would try to avoid raising taxes

The Macomb County BoC (read: democrats), have added another date to their "Magical Mystery Tour" to take public input on their planned tax hike.

March 11th at 7:00pm at the Palazzo Event Center in Shelby has recently been added.

Family budget stretched thin? Having a hard time making ends meet? Can't decide between paying for those pesky doctors's bills, groceries, heat or your new higher tax bill courtesy of Macomb County democrats? Neighborhood looking like a ghost town due to foreclosed home on your block?

Then let YOUR elected officials know at these meetings.
