Yesterday, Obama, speaking about the idea that a John McCain Presidency would be the same as a Bush Presidency, used the line, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." This is of course not the first time this line has been used in recent political history, Dick Cheney used it, speaking of John Kerry's war policies in 2004, and John McCain used the line speaking of Hillary Clinton's policies on healthcare.
So, what's the difference? Why is Obama getting flak from the right by using this comment?

Obviously, Sarah Palin's now famous joke about the "difference between a hockey mom and a pit-bull is lipstick," is still fresh in every mom's mind in the country. That line is not only funny, but empowering to every mom who wished she'd said it. An unbelievable amount of moms across this great country of ours have thought, many times, they wished they would have said something when the opportunity arose to speak up, but, uninterested in ruffling feathers, creating controversy, or seeming unchristian, decided to say nothing. I don't have that problem.

I believe that the "great orator" Barrack Obama used the lipstick line to point out the addition of Palin to the McCain ticket. He clearly used the line to remind country women that they need not apply themselves in politics.

Another shocking attitude has been on full display by the leaders of the National Organization of Women (NOW) whose president recently said that Palin needs to stay home with her children. Wow. I don't think that needs to be elaborated on, clearly that attitude is hypocritical by the most recognizable proponent of women's rights.

All that can be surmised here is that the left in this country do not hold the country in high esteem. What I mean to say, is that country folk to them, do not count, are not useful, do not matter.

I wonder what has happened to the Democrat Party, that both the men and women who represent them have turned into the chauvinist pigs they fought 40 years ago.
